He wasn't going to be poor wherever he went, and although he publicly used all clubs to bump his eventual salary up, I doubt money was his sole motivation.

However, I could well be wrong on that score, and none of us really know. He seemed to be hinting at going to City for a long time from what I remember.

He wanted to come to England so PSG were off the cards. He said he'd be moving to one of the Manchester clubs. Never happened. Why? Well, City dropped out of the running due to his wage demands (yes, even City) and before this we were favourites to sign him.

He then said he was going to announce his future, then made another announcement to say he has to think about it with Chelsea having conquered Europe. A Chelsea team that, let's be fair, were far from the best team in Europe.
Chelsea offered more cash, and it seems a bit suspicious that they signed his brother shortly after. Wouldn't be surprised if this was one of his demands.

Hazard through the year, meaning last season. Laughable.

That's why I said he flirted with everyone last season. Don't think it actually came down to united refusing to meet his demands. But who really knows?

I really think it was cash with the way he was.

Anywho, The Guardian are doing a live blog for who'll be named the next United boss. No need for a blog, going to be 'effin Moyes.

When he broke on to the scene, he looked as though he could be what Messi and Ronaldo have turned into. He was taking teams on, powering through them and finishing.

I'll accept your judgment on his abilities, but I'd be interested to know what older united fans who actually saw best and Charlton play, say about where he fits in your GOAT list.

Of course he isn't better than them or a bigger legend, but in terms of goal scoring there is no option but to put him there. That's what i meant. And considering he was never considered that prolific a scorer it speaks volumes.

Spurs are definitely worrying the most, they did this last season and flopped a massive lead against of us and we finished above them. Stoke are mathematically still fighting for survival and on their day a hard team to beat at home so it wont be easy for Spurs.. Chelsea are playing against Everton in Moyes possible last game as their manager, they'll be going all out for the win. I think for us Wigan will be quite easy, few days after their FA cup final which if they lose they'll have a classic hangover and wont turn up for the game, our worry is Newcastle.

Doesn't seem so. Just googling for quotes now and, whilst I haven't googled them all, I'm seeing the quotes on the net. The Manchester and Chelsea one we already knew. Have looked up the Vermaelen one and he said that. Also the Spurs one.

Edit: And the Milan and Inter one. He's this kind of tw@t lol, so I suspect he did say all that.

The English Eden Hazard.

bbfan1991 09-05-2013 12:36 PM

So what if Rooney does not have Man Utd player on his profile? Rio Ferdinand has never had it nor does Tom Cleverley and David De Gea etc.

Tom Cleverley and Rooney both done some work for Nike recently so I suspect it is for PR reasons because on Rooney's account sometimes his PR team do certain tweets, so you can tell when Rooney is tweeting himself e.g. replying to someone etc or his management is promoting something.

PS shame that Stan Petrov has retired from Football:(. I wish him all the best with what he does next and hope he gets well soon!

Don't even know why Liverpool fans are so happy. Not like Rodgers came to Liverpool as Barcelona manager. Let's hope we send you down to 8th as we take 7th ;)

bbfan1991 09-05-2013 02:30 PM

United still have not confirmed anything, that PR fail will end up in some people being told off:joker:.

He was not who I wanted, but now it is almost confirmed I can put that to one side and back him when United finally make a statement!

Take of your thank you Sir Alex sig, because he was the one who recommended Moyes, and you don't have confidence in Ferguson's judgement, infact you believe your judgement of whats best for Manchester United, is better than Ferguson's judgement.

Do calm down. I have never agreed with Fergie on everything. Just like I doubt anyone else has (unless they're totally up his ass). This is because it's opinion. Seemingly, you are unable to accept that I don't want Moyes as United's next manager.

My opinion. That is all this is.

I guess that nobody should thank Sir Alex if they disagree with him on anything. Especially Moyes being the replacement? No... 'have a word with yourself'.

We were never able shop in the same places you could, yet I think you've made a really poor appointment. I think Moyes has been completely overrated for a few years, and I hope he's your Souness.

I don't expect much to be different next season, but the season after that we'll start to see what he's made of.

Really? I think if Jose returns then we'll really see what Moyes is made of. Jose is, after all, the only manager ever to get to Fergie.
That and, whilst it's a good squad, it needs some TLC.

I see Martinez is the favourite for your job.

I think autopilot will get them through for a season, but that's when the major rebuild will need to be done. The good thing from my POV, is that whiskey nose was given 7 years, so he will be calling for patience as you trickle down the league.

I'm going to be so ******ing gutted if he turns out to be great.

You have done nothing but put Moyes down, for one reason, he doesn't have champions league experience (but technically he does), maybe if he had the money that Mourinho had to spend he would have won the champions league, maybe if Mourinho had managed Everton with no money to spend, he might not have Champions league experience, at Real madrid, Chelsea and Inter Milan, how many players has Mourinho brought through the juniors and turned them in to International players, none come to my mind, he just goes out and spends top money on top players, where as Moyes i can name some, Rooney, Rodwell, Osman, Coleman he also plucked Jagielka and Lescot from the lower leagues and turned them both in to internationals, who got the best out of Lescot Moyes or Mancini (who has champions league experience, which apparently makes you a better manager)?, who got the best out of Arteta, Moyes or Wenger (who has Champions league experience)? who got the best out of Piennar, Moyes or Redknapp (who has Champions league experience)?
Moyes gets the best out of players, because he's a world class manager, and he will prove that to you very soon, and you'll just look like a dick.

Just a little perspective. Everton have the 8th highest wage bill in the league. He's not exactly on a shoestring.

King Gizzard 09-05-2013 03:33 PM

and he's one of the highest paid managers, shoestring club is a load of ****
