Great episode this week (US pace)

Spoiler:

Really thought Brody was actually going to settle in with the Iranians, he should have done really, would have been a legend in Iran. Carrie was ****ing annoying again but I guess she was right again so meh, but it is about time she was put in her place a bit :idc:

Iceman 09-12-2013 10:10 PM

Latter end of this season has been amazing. Terrific acting yet again.

Mystic Mock 09-12-2013 10:15 PM

This show has gone so bad, they're more interested in winning awards for their acting instead of making entertaining episodes where it doesn't all revolve around Brody.

MTVN 09-12-2013 10:46 PM

You are just annoyed cos there's been no Dana recently Mock

Locke. 10-12-2013 12:39 PM

Episode 11 was brilliant, felt like a mini-movie. Next weeks finale should be good

Spoiler:

Guessing Saul will get to stay on as Director of CIA now after how well his plan has gone (or at least get his old job back as right hand man). Don't see how he'd fit into future seasons if it went the way it was looking and he had no ties to the CIA at all anymore.

Not really a spoiler but news about next seasons cast

Spoiler:

Two cast members will depart Homeland at the end of the current third season.

Morena Baccarin, who plays Jessica, and Morgan Saylor, who plays Dana, will not return as series regulars in season four, TV Line reports.

Jessica and Dana have not appeared in the show as much this season because of Brody's (Damian Lewis) reduced role.

According to the website, both actresses are welcome to return on a guest-star basis.

Damian Lewis recently admitted that he did not expect to get "even halfway through" his full contract with the show.

"Brody is such a conundrum for the writers," he said. "They've been slightly hijacked by the brilliance of their own creation.

"I don't think anybody quite knew how Brody was going to work, and I don't think anybody anticipated how compelling the Carrie-Brody relationship would be.

"He's a brilliantly complex and unpredictable character and... he could still be there in season seven. Who knows?"

Homeland's third season concludes this Sunday at 9/8c on Showtime in the US. The show airs on Channel 4 in the UK.

Finale has leaked online too...

Won't be amused if the big spoiler I just read is actually true :idc:

Locke. 14-12-2013 06:55 PM

Just watched it

Spoiler:

That was the perfect ending for the entire show.. It's actually a bit of a shame that there will be a season 4.

Saul wins but is now out the game and living happily with his wife. Carrie gets the job she has always wanted. Brody dead but got his redemption. And then the final scene of Carrie adding his star to the wall at the end.

Season 4 probably set in Turkey then, unless they have all of Carrie's mission inbetween seasons.

lily. 15-12-2013 09:05 PM

I didn't open your spoiler tag... I'm just about to watch it. :)

Iceman 16-12-2013 05:17 PM

Spoiler:

it should have ended just as carrie climbed the fence...no season 4...nothing....

Muat admit I thought when carrie got the call about a spec ops team at the end that brody had miraculously survived....

Im actually devastated hes gone though...the s ynamic between the two was immense

lol locke..

Spoiler:

I agree Eoin.. it should have been a series ender.. not a season ender.. I fail to see where they can go with S4 now.. :/

MTVN 17-12-2013 12:51 AM

Spoiler:

Yeah agree with everyone that it would have been a great way to end the whole show, I'm worried that the main thing they will do now is boring family stuff like Dana and Jessica reacting to Brody's dying a hero basically, Carrie trying to juggle being a Mum with work and probably getting with Quinn, stuff about Saul and his wife etc.

Though then again apparently the Brody family won't be very big in season 4, and there's no way Saul could stay out of things for ever and it seems Carrie will leave the kid with her Dad so there may be some hope, but it's just kinda another season for the sake of it

Was a really good ep overall though, they probably did need to take the plunge and actually kill off Brody tbf, and they carried it out really well

US actor James Rebhorn, known for roles in TV series Homeland and film Scent of a Woman, has died at the age of 65.

Rebhorn, who had skin cancer, died at his home in South Orange, New Jersey, his agent Dianne Busch said.

His career spanned five decades and saw him appear in TV shows including The Good Wife and 30 Rock, and films such as My Cousin Vinny, Carlito's Way and Basic Instinct.

Diagnosed with melanoma in 1992, he continued working until last month.

His agent told The Hollywood Reporter: "He fought it all this time.

"He died Friday afternoon at his home in New Jersey, where he had been receiving hospice care for a week and a half."

He had more than 100 screen credits, one of the most recent being for Homeland, in which he played Frank Mathison, the father of Claire Danes' CIA officer Carrie Mathison.

His films included The Talented Mr Ripley, in which he played a shipping magnate, Meet the Parents and The Game.

Rebhorn often played authority figures, including the headmaster in 1992's Scent of a Woman and the US secretary of state in the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day.

The Philadelphia-born actor also worked on stage, with theatre roles including Broadway productions of 12 Angry Men and Our Town.

Tributes have been paid to the prolific character actor. Fellow actor Tom Arnold wrote on Twitter: "RIP. This actor was amazing.

"You didn't know him but trust me, you knew him."

Actress Frances Fisher wrote: "Shocked and saddened to hear of James Rebhorn's passing. Jim was a consummate actor with whom I had the pleasure to work when we were young."

Rebhorn is survived by his wife Rebecca Linn and two daughters.

Thats really sad. I remember him from a lot of TV shows....I think he was underused in Homeland too....I liked hia character.

Also I hope thia is the last season and we just get to carrie being in control of her life.....

I've been tryna get rid of Brody (and his family) after the first season. this show would be so much better if it was all about Carrie.

eason one was good, but we found out that yes, brody was a terrorist, it should have ended there, and Carrie should have gone on to fight more terrorists,

Hopefully next season we can start fresh with Carrie fighting new terrorists. (and she really needs to give that baby up for good and never speak of it again, because i really don't want a whole drama about Carrie missing her baby)

hopefully now because the actor that plays her dad is dead, that rules out any possibility of him taking the baby. I'm hoping.

Brody didn't get redemption in my eyes. He turned, and he was a terrorist, just like Carrie said from the beginning. He only changed his mind because Carrie told him about the baby, he still didn't have any real alliegence to the USA.

He's a terrorist piece of **** in my eyes, and always will be. no redemption for him. imho.

MTVN 25-03-2014 05:50 AM

Have some respect, Brody was an American hero

no, he converted to islam, and intended to try to murder at least a dozen USA congressmen. he was definitely a terrorist and definitely try to carry out a terrorist attack on the US... did you miss that part? oh and he actually murdered the vice president...

there's no way that he wasn't a terrorist...

and i totally knew she was gonna draw that star with a sharpie before it happened, it was so obvious. wtf Carrie, she's going soft, i think they should,d blow up carrie in the first episode of S4, and make Quinn the new main character. just my opinion...

I wish Carrie would have run up and gotten shot by the Iranian Guards during Brody's execution, it would have been a much more fitting ending. i'm sick of her.

Quinn is a much more interesting character at this point. imho.

he is interesting, but he seems evil to me. we need a true patriot to be our hero, and i think that's Quinn.

I think he is going to end up being a baddie, and i think Saul is gonna end up exposing him. I think it's gonna end up that he is Mossad, he's working for the Israeli's. look at him!

he looks like every stereotype of the evil jew. That can't be by accident.

Locke. 25-03-2014 10:25 AM

Very true Alex, Quinn is a real patriot and the true American hero on the show
