Letterman doesnt have an audience for his show
http://www.9stream.com/channel.php?n=196 basically a radio show |
@_missmeggo tweets: NYU hospital generator failed. Evacuating intensive care down nine flights of stairs.
|
0111: Latest estimates of the number of people without power now range between five and six million.
0119: With at least 10 deaths linked to Sandy in the US, the storm has also proved deadly north of the border in Canada. Police in Toronto say a woman there was killed by an airborne sign in a car park and pronounced dead at the scene. ------------------------ http://d3j5vwomefv46c.cloudfront.net...zq6eT~74TmN9k_ |
..the last report I heard was 12 dead in the US
Edit:..it's just said 13 people in New York alone |
It won't be anything remotely close to Katrina. In damage, yes, but not in lives.

Watched Letterman, Not having a crowd there was pretty spooky to see. |
I live in NJ and this really sucks. The damage is unreal, expected power outages for 5-10 days, trees and branches everywhere. I'm currently living in a hotel and a neighbor's tree fell onto (and into) my house.
|
48 dead?! oh no.
And those stupid celebs that were making jokes of this, including Ricky Gervais who can never help himself..... :cloud: RIP |
That is terrible to hear troynuncdicit  I hope you and your loved ones are ok
|
Has raph posted, he is in NY?
hope everyone affected is ok, couldn't believe the vast area affected! :( Here in the UK it's hard to imagine being faced with that much devestation. |
Raph posted last night so I think he's ok.
Sorry to hear about your house troynuncdicit :( |
Heartfelt sympathies go out to all americans and in particular those directly affected by this nightmare.
Ive heard people mention the possibility of improving sea defences across new york and new jersey and other states...however can much can one defend these coastal cities and states against such a hurricane 1000 miles wide? The next question that will no doubt arise, is about global warming and climate change. is it just me or are the freak weather getting more freakish month by month, year by year? This wasnt on the scale of the past few tsunamis , but it was still unparalelled storm in its own right. Is it simply the fact we have global tv coverage of these storms that makes them feel more frequent? or in fact are they happening with greater regularity? the FACT the ice caps are melting and the sea levels are rising are surely factors that can no longer be ignored. Its time to act as one world |
I wonder when all the countries that we provide aid too when they have disasters are gonna send us some aid for our disaster? I won't hold my breath. lol

the americans are good people on the whole, I believe their fight for a country by the people and for the people is one of the most noble causes on mother earth...truth is the rest of the planet is mostly engulfed in socialist or communist mumbo jumbo whilst at the same time selling out to massive corporations....america is at leats still fighting for a balance....europeans love bad mouthing all americans, but I hate it...the american friends and people Ive known personally have all been fantastic...warm genuine open honest big hearted, I just love them to bits...to blame individuals (apart from bush lol) for american foreign policy is idiotic....truth is the rest of the world has no idea what its like to be repsonsible for the whole world....its so easy to judge from the sidelines....look at what poor old obama has on his plate for the next 7 days? save obamacare, save the homeless, save america, save libya, save syria, save the middle east, save the euro and next week save himself, ...Its lonely at the top...God speed America!:wavey: |
Troy :(
|
Sorry to hear that Troy. Stay safe. I have a classmate living in Boston. She should be safe.
Heard what happened to 80-90 homes in Queens a NYC neighborhood. That sucks. You can donate to Red Cross Appearantly if you want over here. |
Sorry to everyone who this has affected here on TIBB aswell. :(
Damage costs $20 Billion. I wonder if the ridiculously megalistic rich stars will give good sums of the money they don't need or just give a little and hope the majority comes from less fortunate taxpayers when they do their charity marathon. Anyways, I expect Bon Jovi as he's from New Jersey, and Bruce Springsteen. Those are the only two i'll forgive a little bit. Since Lindsay Lohan, Ricky Gervais and the likes were making light of this before hand they should give the most money out of all. |
Btw Rocky Gervais is going on about religion again, in regards to this. SHUT....dee HELL..up you absolute C80CK! Can you just cease to exist you annoy dee F8CK outta me. All he's about is Atheism it seems. WE F8CKING GET IT!! Can you just for ONCE!!!...Not make it your nightly tweet mission to prove your atheism, and lack of god anytime an event happens? Thank you very much you absolute F8CKING T8WUNT!!!
Goodnight everyone. |

It should be interesting to see how the majority of New Yorkers survive without their daily fix of fast food. With no McDonalds,Burger King,Wendy's etc... to get their daily5,000 cal fix a lot of them might start suffering from serious malnutrition and a few may even die. Either way its only going to pile even more pressure on the already overstretched emergency services....!!!!
