Medical notes outlining Michael Schumacher’s condition and care have been stolen and offered for sale on the Internet.
The horrifying development was confirmed by the former F1 star’s management this evening, with the spokesperson warning that legal action would be carried out if any of the information contained in the documents was made public.
“For several days, stolen documents and data are being offered for sale. The offeror claims them to be the medical file of Michael Schumacher. We cannot judge if these documents are authentic. However, the documents are clearly stolen. The theft has been reported. The authorities are involved,” read a statement.
“We expressly advise that both the purchase and the publication of such documents and data is forbidden. The contents of any medical files are totally private and confidential and must not made available to the public. We will therefore, in every single case, press for criminal charges and damages against any publication of the content or reference to the medical file. We trust for your understanding.”
Schumacher was last week transferred from hospital to a rehabilitation facility, with medics confirming that he is no longer in a coma. It’s understood that the driver, who was gravely injured in a skiing accident in December, was conscious with his eyes open when being transferred and is now able to communicate by nodding his head
Dear god this is sick

BERLIN: Corinna, wife of Formula One legend Michael Schumacher, said that her husband's health is making slow but good progress.

In her first public appearance since the skiing accident that left her husband in an induced coma last December, Corinna said that Michael's condition is slowly getting better, reports Efe.

Corinna was smiling and joking while handing out chocolates at a riding event in her native Switzerland.

The former seven-time F1 world champion is currently being treated in a rehab clinic near his family home in Lausanne in Switzerland after leaving Grenoble hospital in France where he had been hospitalised for months after a fatal skiing accident last December which left him comatose.

Also it was traced back to the helicopter firm that moved him from france to switzerland. (The robbery of his files)

Livia 10-07-2014 12:37 PM

Great news, even if his recovery is slow. And as for his medical notes being stolen, what kind of person does something like that? I hope they're prosecuted to the full force of the law.

Iceman 10-07-2014 12:49 PM

All progress is good. Im disgusted people would rob his personal files....I know everyone wants to know how he is but this way is wrong

Vanessa 10-07-2014 12:54 PM

I'm so glad that he's getting better.

A man arrested over the suspected theft of a medical file relating to Michael Schumacher has been found hanged in his cell, Zurich police have said.
The man, who worked as a manager for the Rega air ambulance service, was found dead today in a city police jail following his arrest on Tuesday. His name has not been released and he had denied any wrong doing.
Prison officers reportedly found the man dead this morning when they brought his breakfast. He was due to appear at a hearing before a judge.
Prosecutors opened an investigation into suspected violation of professional secrecy after Rega and Schumacher's family filed criminal complaints.
Rega arranged the seven-time F1 champion's transfer in June from a hospital in France to a hospital in Switzerland, to continue his recovery from his December 29 skiing accident.
Schumacher's manager Sabina Kehm later said medical documents purported to be Schumacher's were being offered for sale to French, Swiss and German journalists for a reported figure of €50,000 (£39,600).
Ms Kehm had threatened to sue any publication that ran the confidential records.

Rega lodged a criminal complaint on July 8 for the suspected leak of Schumacher's medical files, but said at the time it had no proof that one of its employees was implicated.
An investigation by Zurich's cantonal prosecutor led to the arrest of a Rega employee on Tuesday in connection with violating patient privacy and medical secrecy.
Zurich prosecutors say initial investigations indicate that no-one else was involved.

Rega CEO Ernst Kohler said in a statement on Wednesday that the helicopter company was "saddened" by the "tragic event."
Schumacher suffered serious head injuries following the skiing accident in France, which left him in a medically-induced coma.
The 45-year-old was woken from it in June, and is currently being treated at Grenoble hospital in Switzerland near to his family home. Although his condition has improved, medical experts have said he may never fully recover and will always reply on the help of others.

:/

Niamh. 07-08-2014 10:26 AM

Jeez that's terrible, obviously what he did was awful but was it really worth killing him self over?

Iceman 07-08-2014 10:29 AM

Im not even sure what he'd be charged under?? Theft?? Which surely wouldn't give a lengthy jail sentence.

the truth 13-08-2014 04:18 AM

so how is he now? is he able to walk ?

Iceman 13-08-2014 08:32 AM

There wont be any updates for a while. Apparently he communicates by blinking as he's paralysed from the neck down. All speculation though

Was he a doctor? If so maybe he would have lost his license?

Oh no he was manager for the air ambulance service, I guess he would have lost his job and had a criminal record, still though

Michael Schumacher has left hospital and will continue his recovery at home in Switzerland.

The seven-times Formula One world champion received severe head injuries in a skiing accident on December 29, 2013, and was placed in a medically-induced coma by doctors. He came out of the coma in June, and left the University Hospital of Grenoble, France for further treatment at the University Hospital of Lausanne.

"Henceforth, Michael's rehabilitation will take place at his home," said Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm. "Considering the severe injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months. There is still, however, a long and difficult road ahead.

"We would like to extend our gratitude to the entire team at the CHUV Lausanne for their thorough and competent work. We ask that the privacy of Michael's family continue to be respected, and that speculations about his state of health are avoided."

Niamh. 09-09-2014 03:06 PM

Poor guy, I hope he eventually gets back to having a decent quality of life

Iceman 09-09-2014 03:08 PM

LaLaLand 09-09-2014 03:14 PM

What a trooper! Happy for him and his family and hoping he has a successful rehab.

Iceman 09-09-2014 03:27 PM

Also his family have denied reports they built a medical clinic in the home in Geneva.
