and something less funny is the severe windstorm for Scotland on Friday

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/w...ime=1420761600

A vigorous depression is expected to run rapidly east passing northern Scotland early on Friday. Winds will begin to increase late on Thursday to give a period of very strong westerly winds across the north of the Scottish mainland and the Western and Northern Isles during Friday. Gusts of 70 mph are likely quite widely with a risk of 80-90 mph gusts. Winds should quickly ease from the west during the day.

The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to transport as well as power supplies and the possibility of structural damage. Large waves may also lead to dangerous conditions along some coasts.

Met Office now gone for Amber and winds reaching 100mph:shocked:

"A vigorous depression is expected to run rapidly east passing northern Scotland on Thursday night and Friday morning. Winds will begin to increase late on Thursday to give a period of very strong westerly winds across the Western Isles, the north and northwest of the Scottish mainland and Orkney. Gusts of 80 to 90 mph are likely quite widely with a risk of gusts of over 100 mph in places. Winds should quickly ease from the west during the day. "

The above is typical of how the moronic tabloid the express simply cannot be bothered to report a single fact without trolling its elderly readers. Pathetic.

****Attention Josy

Your area now has an amber warning and it looks like you are going to get it overnight and early tomorrow morning. I would take care and perhaps expect to lose power if you are unlucky.

101mph gust at Lerwick (Capital Shetland) and its a sea level site!

We have 55mph winds and horizontal snow at the moment. Just taking a binbag out there was a major event.

Crimson Dynamo 12-01-2015 10:53 AM

Snow from the weekend has melted and the snowmelt has caused the big river to burst its banks again and cut off access to town for a wee while. Another day of gale force winds and showers of snow pellets and hail whizzing down the valley. Looks like a snow day tomoz too.

Gusting to 50mph in the showers currently

at times on sat it was a bit like this below
