These now include on demand viewers. Both episodes up 30k on the previous officials. This now takes the series over last year’s series average of 1.24m! Obviously, Sunday still is the most watched ever on catch up, but now even more so!

All officials from now on will include the total catchup and on demand viewers. Fingers crossed for for consistent +500k’s

.

Bye at us getting excited for these extra numbers all year for 30k

bots 26-09-2018 12:52 PM

so 100k added on +1 even with a 10:15 original start? Home from the pub?

Just 20k difference between something that was seen as one of Channel 4's biggest ratings flops in a while.

I think it was more a case of BB and The Circle sharing a lot of viewers, and last nights Circle was a ‘must see’ episode hence why it won the slot. But then BB had much more watch on +1

WE DID IT

T* 26-09-2018 01:02 PM

I think the Circle will end up coming up on top legitimately

If C4 didn't play silly beggars and copy C5's strategy of putting their nightly show on at 10pm, it would be doing far better I presume. The Circle has been great but I always watch it on All4 the next day (or later that same night if I don't have to be up early the next day)

T* 26-09-2018 01:05 PM

As jack said in the other thread that well could’ve been because of them wanting to experiment with the format to see if there’s an interest. That viewer count is still impressive for 10PM nowadays which is what I think people are forgetting

It deserves it the concept is extremely interesting and is being pulled off really well.

Also the contestants are actually likeable.

Though my heart is with BB I am enjoying The Circle more as with this years housemates I don't feel a connection with any of them.

The Circle can be BB's replacement during it's hiatus i guess, let ITV producers brainstorm and put in the effort to save BB, and then re-air it for BB20

supertv247 26-09-2018 01:44 PM

The Circle is getting better every night

I think the reason they've seen an increase is because rather than following the BB style editing they follow love Island, therefore each night tends to end on a cliffhanger rather than just at the end of the day, so it works at keeping viewers in edge making sure they watch ASAP

Well imo considering it was once culturally and socially huge, I think the times have moved on from then now so imo making BB the new Love Island in the future I'd say is unlikely.

Although when LI dies down it would probably be a good time/idea for a channel to relaunch BB.

We love the Circle.

I always watch The Circle live and watch BB either the next day or on plus 1 depending on how tired I am.

I agree. I'm not familiar with LI's editing (and basically everything about it) - but this is a huge advantage they have on BB.
The cliffhanger of the blocked players meeting the active players is a delight.
Tbh, The Circle is much more of a game than BB - and that's why it can have cliffhangers every ad break.
