Kate and Prince William release touching photo of Prince Philip and Queen with their seven great-grandchildren.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have released a touching photo of the Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen with their seven great-grandchildren ahead of Prince Philip's funeral on Saturday. The image shows the 94-year-old monarch and her husband, who died on Friday aged 99, with Prince George, Prince Louis, Savannah Phillips, Princess Charlotte, Isla Phillips holding Lena Tindall, and Mia Tindall. Gorgeous photo. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...dchildren.html |

Eugenie has posted a lovely tribute: princesseugenie Verified Dearest Grandpa, We all miss you. You would be so touched by all the tributes that have been shared with me the past few days. People remember sitting next to you at a dinner, or shaking your hand once, who remember you saying hello in passing, or remember how much their DofE award meant to them. I remember learning how to cook, how to paint, what to read. I remember laughing at your jokes and asking about your spectacular life and service in the navy. I remember incinerating the sausages and you swooping in to save the day. I remember your hands and your laugh and your favourite beer. I will remember you in your children, your grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you for your dedication and love for us all and especially Granny, who we will look after for you. With all my love Eugenie So touching. :bawling: |

I don't understand the complete mental gymnastics a person would need to compare the two and act like they are the same thing. Guessing who is going to die is not inherently a malicious act, a person doesn't play that game and be like 'gee whiz! I hope this person dies!' but attacking someone for grieving the loss of a loved one will always be a malicious act. |
Also can we stop with the sanctimonious and incredibly disingenuous clutching of pearls over that game? Especially when people are trying to make out that it's worse than literally bashing someone for not grieving how they want them to.
Get some perspective. |

Of course playing a game of guessing when real people will die is twisted. |
I'm pleased Her Majesty the Queen has decreed NO ONE of the family will be in military dress for the funeral.
That's a huge move from usual Royal funerals. I'm pleased she has looked at, had it been permitted, that Prince Harry would have likely been the odd one out. It seems, the Queen is far more concerned with Prince Harry's feelings too, much more than some other less kindly sources. Of course too, it is to protect Prince Andrew too no doubt. |

She is doing absolutely the right thing, the day is about Philip not about who wears what, it shows how skilled the Queen is at nipping controversy in the bud rather than throwing fuel on the fire
