But yeah. If you don’t understand depression, you don’t understand mental illness, period. (I’m not applying that to you at all.) And celebrities definitely do play their part in trivialising bipolar. That much is for-sure. |

AI becoming more and more prevalent (big ting, still). For writers like me, AI is not good news. It’s rotting away at some of our livelihood.
No writer who doesn’t want to be out of business would say that AI is a uniformly good thing. |
Quote:
Like you've said yourself, it's a risk to so many people's livelihood, plus if we keep taking away reasons for people to go outside, we as a species are going to find it hard to procreate in the far future. Because even before AI, all of the big shops are now available online, which again stops people from going outside and possibly meeting someone. |

I have nothing personal against Ke$ha or her Music, but I'll never forget how that sounded. |
This doesn't irritate me as such, but it does amuse me: A little while ago, I received a notificaiton for a fresh reply to a comment I made on YouTube....fifteen years ago lol. And more than that, the comment I left was so obviously made in response to another person, in a conversation whose context has since been lost through years and years of YouTube constantly reformatting the comments section and consequently breaking up the chain of replies, etc. In which case, I can't possibly be expected to stand by or disown the original comment with any particular degree of certainty or confidence. But this person was so confrontational and sarcastic in their tone, I just had to laugh. Imagine getting that uppity in response to a YouTube comment made fifteen years ago and whose contet has since been totally lost. Some strange people about.
The real funny part is that it was a comment on a Doctor Who video lol. So yeah, a real deep and consequential discussion has been lost to time, regrettably. |

The fact that (with my bank anyway) it costs a whopping £25 to make an international transfer. Everything is just such a money-making venture in this hyper-capitalistic world. Pay this, pay that, pay additional-fee x, y and z and usage fees beyond the alphabet. This world we live in is just too expensive for no reason.

And the excuse is always one of three things in this country. 1. Immigrants 2. Inflation 3. Covid It can never be that the people running some of these businesses are a bunch of Jeremy Hunt's. |
Whenever you say that Video Games currently have poor quality in general, and then the community in general will say that it's more alive than ever because the "Indie" scene is going well, and look I have liked some Indie Games myself in the past, so I'm not being snobby when I say these few things about Indie Games.
1. Indie Games are not the face of the industry (that would be AAA Games) so for the masses that are only casually more into Video Games, will be seeing long release times, buggy launches, poor gameplay a lot of the time for a myriad of different reasons depending on the Game. And a lot of the time even poor storytelling. 2. Like any Video Game, some of these "great" Indie Games aren't going to be great for everyone, so when you factor in subjective taste on top of (in general) broken AAA Games (fair play to anyone that likes these Games) but to me and a fair few other people they are borderline broken Games, or just flat out tedious to play, on top of some Indie Games that personally just don't do it for you, the options of good Video Games for your personal taste is shrinking a fair amount. 3. Some Indie Games are just genuinely ****, I remember playing one where the writing was so small that I couldn't even read it's tutorial at all, which got me stuck in the Game. 4. After playing Haunting Ground recently (made by Capcom back in the PS2 days,) it really reminded me of what AAA Gaming can do when it's actually on form. It can do the fun gameplay loop that Indie Games are so good at today, and combining it with fun storytelling that makes the characters and world feel more interesting. And Sword Of The Berserk for the Dreamcast was developed by Yuke's (known for the WWE Games mainly,) and they're again another AAA studio that brought Berserk's fantastic world to life, on top of really fun gameplay. Tbf the Berserk: Band Of The Hawk Game was fun as well (not as good as Sword Of The Berserk imo) but it was still a fun time, and again it was developed by Omega Force (who develop the Dynasty Warriors Games) and again they were able to do more with it than an Indie studio could. And look, I don't mean this as an attack on Indie developers, some of them are really good imo (especially in comparison to modern AAA Games,) but I don't believe that the industry should be so overly reliant on Indie Games, remakes, remasters, and certainly not DLC trying to pass themselves off as unofficial Games.:umm2: AAA Games need to get back on track again with great material that's new for the player to enjoy. Rant over. |

This annoying obsession some people have with killing off soap characters for no reason. Can they not just live in peace, on-screen or off-screen?
