Manchester City are preparing a move for Liverpool's Xabi Alonso, according to reports, rivalling Real Madrid.

Barcelona are considering offering Eric Abidal to Liverpool in the hope of strike a swap-deal that would see Javier Mascherano head to Camp Nou.

That last one is very tempting
I'd sell of Dossena for a few million
Wouldn't sell off Alonso for any price
And barcenlona can forget it Rafal wont sell off to Javier

Front page of one of the local papers say they are still giving Rafa the money for transfers, so hopefully that's true.
They don't have the funds to compete dave,. Gareth Barry offer from Liverpool was £8million from liverpool but they couldn't offer any more.

Arsenal want to sign me, claims Udinese defender Zapata

Udinese defender Cristian Zapata claimed Arsenal are among the clubs interested
in acquiring his services this summer.

The 22-year-old has made 17 league starts for Udinese this season and his performances for the Bianconeri have not gone unnoticed.

'Juventus, Fiorentina, Milan, Arsenal and Villarreal have requested information about me,' said Zapata.

'There are many teams that are keen to sign me but an official offer has not been made so far.

'I think if a good offer arrives then Udinese will have to consider it. But the club don't need to sell me immediately.'

Udinese reportedly turned down a £9.5million bid from Arsenal for Zapata last
summer.

The Colombia international joined the Italian outfit in 2005 from home club Deportivo Cali.

He is under contract with Udinese until June 2013.

Liverpool's transfer kitty unaffected by co-owners' money woes?
04:51 PM 05 June, 2009

Liverpool's parent company, owned by Tom Hicks and George Gillett, has suffered heavy financial losses over the past year, but how much will it affect the football club's transfer kitty?

The holding company, Kop Football Holdings, lost £42.6m in the year up to August 2008, Hicks and Gillett have until July 24th to refinance the £350m loan they took out to buy the club.

Ursula Errington of Sky News Business said: "I would be tempted to say, there's always room for manoevre and negotiation with the banks.

"It's unlikely, bearing in mind the assets that Hicks and Gillett have, that they're just going to come to a dead-end wall."

Hicks and Gillett surely realise that Liverpool need to continue to invest in their squad to remain title challengers, but their paltry offer of £8m for Gareth Barry shows they are more mindful of money now than when they forked out over £20m for Fernando Torres (who must be worth a whole lot more than that now!).

Will Liverpool still be able to buy big this summer?

They will drop into 4th this year i reckon.

Chelsea - Malouda Set To Leave?

Earlier this week rumours swept around cyber-world that Florent Malouda was on the verge of signing a new two year deal with Chelsea.

It was seen as ample reward for a pulsating second half of the season whereby Malouda appeared to have captured the form that made him the 'Player of the tear` in the French League prior to us signing him.

However, today rumours are emerging that Malouda may not be long for Stamford Bridge. Apparently Malouda`s people are locked in talks with AC Milan.

AC Milan are, apparently, keen to utilise some of the transfer funds they`ll receive for Kaka to fond a replacement and Malouda is seen as that man!

Zinedine Zidane has claimed that Kaka has signed for Real Madrid and will wear the number 5 shirt which he once occupied. The former World Player of the Year has also urged Florentino Perez to steal Franck Ribery from Bayern Munich.

Ashley Cole will be rewarded with a new contract at Stamford Bridge in an attempt to ward off interest from Barcelona. - He will Stay i think

Gareth Barry has begun life as a Manchester City player by embroiling himself in a heated training ground bust-up with Gary Cahill while on international duty. - lol does that mean a fight?

Mark Hughes could approach Liverpool with a big-money bid for Xabi Alonso after it was revealed that the Reds financial problems have escalated. - Xabi could go to help with debt like Arsenal did with Henry and others.

David Silva is thought to be holding talks with Real Madrid scuppering any Rafael Benitez’s attempts to sign the Valencia winger. - Already knew he wouldnt come.

Andrey Arshavin has hinted that Manchester United might need a new goalkeeper soon and has nominated Russian star Igor Akinfeev for the position. The Arsenal midfielder has also suggested Rafael Benitez signs right-back Aleksandr Anyukov. - Lol Arshavin giving the managers tips, probably a pretty good idea though as the Russian team internationally are looking really dominating.

Aston Villa are bracing themselves with reports claiming both Chelsea and Real Madrid are keen on signing PFA Young Player of the Year Ashley Young. - Good chance he will win i think.

Arsene Wenger is reportedly monitoring Lille’s Eden Hazard, Wolfsburg’s Edin Dzeko and Werder Bremen’s Mesut Oezil. - I don't think Edin Dzeko will leave but could get the other 2, great new additions to the Arsenal team.

David Bentley and Tom Huddlestone are expected to leave White Hart Lane this summer with Manchester City and Aston Villa the two side’s keen on rescuing the underperforming individuals.

Valencia president Vicente Soriano has resigned following his failure to solve the La Liga’s side’s debt problems. Star trio David Silva, David Villa and Juan Mata are all expected to be sold to service some of the alleged £398 debt. - Silva will go to liverpool, only if they can put the money together, Villa will go premiership or la liga. not sure about mata.

Tim Cahill has taunted the big four clubs claiming that chairmen across the country are jealous of Everton’s ability to achieve success on a budget. - Arsenal are on a budget to, its not as tight but its a budget but still they are doing better.

Lyon’s Karim Benzema is not ‘untransferable’ according to the Ligue 1 side’s chairman. The player himself, however, wants to remain in France and will only move if a huge bid is put on the table by a top European club. - Looks like Utd wont get him unless they offer huge money.

Stoke City will challenge Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Djibril Cisse. The former Liverpool player is contracted to Marseille but will be allowed to leave the Stade Velodrome once again.

AC Milan are ready to use any funds from the sale of Kaka to lure Chelsea winger Florent Malouda. The French international appears to have regained his form after a year in and out of the side under messrs Grant and Scolari.

Harry Redknapp has been bowled over by the sums of cash being waved around by Chelsea and Real Madrid and has also claimed that he wouldn’t be surprised if Manchester City won the Premier League title in the near future.

BROWN MAY MAKE MANUCHO MOVE

Phil Brown has not ruled out making a permanent move for Manchester United striker Manucho.

The Angola international spent the second half of the season on loan at the KC Stadium and scored two goals in 17 appearances for Hull City.

He has now returned to Old Trafford and has 18 months remaining on his United deal, but Brown is considering a summer swoop.

The Tigers boss is keen to sign two forwards during the transfer window and admits he could be tempted to recruit Manucho, but only if he can agree on a price with United.

"There's mileage in Manucho but how much there is would depend on how much he would cost us," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

"He's 6ft 4ins, he's got an eye for goal, he's got pace and he's got an awareness in the penalty box.

"There's certainly potential where he's concerned, but he's a very raw talent."

There has been speculation that Hull could raid Newcastle, Middlesbrough or West Brom, who all dropped out of the Premier League at the end of the season.

Chairman Paul Duffen has refused to confirm the rumours but admits the club will have to 'look at everything'.

Duffen added: "The market is starting to creek and groan a little now and there is starting to be some movement.

"It is an interesting market this summer as the global economic situation will mean clubs will have to be careful with their finances.

"Obviously there are also players who will attract interest at the relegated clubs. The problem with going down that route is that many players have long contracts and high salaries that they are happy to sit on."

30stone 05-06-2009 04:31 PM

Vladimir Bystrov would be good in the premiership i reckon good russian midfielder.

And Yes, Arsenal will be one of the stronger sides this season they are going to make a few defensive signings already got one, and maybe 1 - 2 midfield signings no strikers i don't think.

But with liverpool maybe not able buy new transfers and be on a tighter budget than Arsenal hopefully we can pull above them...

top 2 in premiership next year Arsenal and Chelsea.

I like having just a couple russian players in premiership, Arshavin has made a big impact though and probably other teams will start looking at russians now.

Chelsea eye Young swoop
Ancelotti a fan of Villa's exciting flank man

Aston Villa's Ashley Young is among new Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti's top targets, skysports.com understands.

A host of high-profile names have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge since the arrival of Ancelotti, but Young is believed to be high on the Italian's agenda.

Young enjoyed another fantastic season for Villa last term, being named in the PFA team for a second successive year and also scooping the Young Player of the Year award.

Chelsea have held a long-term interest in Young and they see him as a key addition to their squad as they look to rebuild their ageing side.

Guus Hiddink is thought to have recommended Chelsea move for Young as the club look to bring in more English talent.

Young has established himself as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League since bursting onto the scene at Watford and he would fit into Chelsea's plans of trying to introduce a brand of more attractive attacking football at Stamford Bridge.

Aston Villa chief Martin O'Neill is a big fan of Young and would be loath to lose the England international, having already seen Gareth Barry leave Villa Park this summer.

However, Villa could find it hard to resist a big money offer for Young, with Chelsea hoping to lure him away with the prospect of UEFA Champions League football.

England were given a tough 45 minutes when they defeated Kazakhstan earlier in the season and face them again in Almaty this weekend.

Here skysports.com looks at the key battles in the World Cup qualifier.

JOHN TERRY v SERGEY OSTAPENKO

Terry, England's captain, will be the cornerstone of a defence missing centre-back Rio Ferdinand and goalkeeper David James. The 28-year-old is on a high after lifting the FA Cup at the weekend and will be expecting another win. Ostapenko could be the player Kazakhstan look to when they attack. He plays in his own country now but did have a spell with Royal Antwerp in Belgium.

STEVEN GERRARD v ZHAMBYL KUKEYEV

Gerrard is in top form and was given the player-of-the-year award by the Football Writers' Association. In his last few England games he and Wayne Rooney have been sharing duties on the left flank and as a support striker, interchanging mid-match - and the results have been encouraging. Kukeyev shocked Wembley by scoring in the qualifier last October and will be hoping to get on the scoresheet again.

WAYNE ROONEY v ALEXANDR KISLITSYN

Rooney has never been in better form for England, netting seven goals in his last five appearances. The system with Gerrard is working and allows him the freedom to express himself. Now he is looking to get over his Champions League final disappointment. Kislitsyn, a defender, played at Wembley and is again expected to have his hands full with Rooney and Emile Heskey in attack.

Stade Rennais Star Stephane M'Bia Is Close To Everton Switch
Reports in France suggest a deal is almost done...

5 Jun 2009 14:13:37

Reports in France suggest Stade Rennais midfielder Stephane M'Bia is close to sealing a transfer to the Premier League.

Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi pushed a move closer last week when he told France Football that M'Bia would be allowed to leave for the right price.

"M'Bia is the only player we are willing to let leave, but that is only if we get a suitable offer, which has not been the case so far," revealed Dreossi.

Reports in Le Parisien claim the 23-year-old Cameroon international has now sealed a move to Everton.

The Paris-based daily believes that M'Bia has already agreed personal terms and that the clubs just need to agree a fee before the transfer goes through.

M'Bia is currently valued at around €4.5 million (£4m)

Sounds like a good everton signing.
