I find that her nastiness is/was championed and she doesn't get enough criticism for it. I mean remember her Primark shoes comment? which was seen as hillarious and was championed, even though used in an insulting context. Fast forward a year later, and you get Zoe's Tesco comment, which lets face it, wasn't as nasty as Gina's comment, yet Zoe was vilified for it, and was shown the door a few days later. Is shopping at Primark less insulting than people who work at Tesco's or something?

I disliked Gina week 1, but I grew to like her, she was horrible towards Hazel tbh but I did see a nice a side to her. Her friendship with Sam was lovely too since his best buddy Callum got evicted. I prefer Hazel tbh but I don't think Gina or anyone was jealous because they just clashed because both of them are feisty(girls clash because of similarities of each other like Helen and Ashleigh). She wasn't as vile and evil as Helen and Conor etc.

The thing is Jemima didn't say she didn't find black men unattractive. She said she would never date one as they're not her type that she usually goes for. Same way blonde women aren't certain men's type.

Gina is genuinely rich because she's always sending Snapchat's of her in her car, tours of her house, her wardrobe, her shopping, her on holiday etc. If she wasn't, wouldn't she have been exposed by now?

I don't think Gina support started the 'let's support dicks' thing because Gina was a nice girl until the Haze; situation where she lost a lot of fans (I personally went off her big time, she was headed for my top five before then).

There's a big difference between stupid / ignorant and racist. And Gina was unpleasant way before the Hazel stuff imo.

As for her being fake, I don't think she faked being rich. I think she exaggerated her poshness.

Spot on, I've made the exact same point in the past. :clap1:

Gina is a black woman, some people are more sensitive than others, I don't think anyone can say how others should feel. Gina has a right to be offended if she found the comment ignorant.

Yes, ignorant. Not racist. Like she accused Jemima of being and then went about like she had been called the N word and expirience racial abuse. Then calling Jemima a racist bitch afterwards.

Jason. 16-08-2015 04:22 PM

Also, people saying she was only nasty to Hazel.

She treated Jemima awfully as well. Bidding a friendly farewell to someone on their eviction only to go into the DR moments later and say "Good Riddance" isn't what I'd call nice behaviour. Not to mention Gina saying she didn't want to be evicted in Week 3 (when she was up) because it would mean she had Jemima on BOTS, and she'd have to sit next to her in the final.

Daniel. 16-08-2015 04:23 PM

Gina was witty and funny and a complete OTT character, hence why people found Primark funny. Gina also said it in retaliation to someone saying she looked like a prostitute, whereas Zoe just said it in a calm conversation.

It was an equal feud, Jemima never gave Gina a chance, as soon as she entered Jemima went all reverse snobbery on Gina and was bitching about her the next say on live feed when Gina had said nothing to or about Jemima.

LukeB 16-08-2015 04:24 PM

I just see it that both Hazel and Gina were bad as each other tbh, both of them gave it to each other.

The moment where i saw a different side to her is when she ate dog food or whatever it was, she is the type of girl who would refused to do that and have a tantrum or something but she did it for the team.

Actually, considering she took a fairy trivial situation in the grand scheme of things and tried to turn it into a race row (and pretty much trivialised racism in the process), people absolutely have a right to voice an opinion on that.

As for her having a right to be offended, you're absolutely right. The issue is how she dealt with that and blew it up into a huge issue.

That doesn't make sense. Surely saying it in a calm conversation is less vitriolic than using it as an insult, retaliation or otherwise?

Saying it in retalition is completely irrelevant, she still said it. She couldn't think of a response that wasn't essentially an insult to a lot of other people who had nothing to do with her dispute with Sallie? Sorry, but that's no excuse.

Jason. 16-08-2015 04:29 PM

Hazel gave as good as she got. But I thought it was more bullying from Gina's side than from Hazel's.

Yes, I used the B word, because it was a form of bullying, IMO. I mean her behaviour received over 200 complaints, FFS.

Lostie! 16-08-2015 04:33 PM

I'll say one thing about Gina, she provokes a lot of debate.

And that's the closest to me complimenting her you're gonna get.

Changing the subject, Becki is underrated.

I loved Becki. Just a really sweet, eccentric woman, certainly not deserving of the hostiltiy she got from the crowd.

Gina going from detesting Jemima's guts in week two to "well, I don't dislike Jemima..." in the final <3

Gald to see someone else also loves her. She just nominated someone who happened to be popular, with no intended malice whatsoever. Also, some people say she was dull, but recently re-watching BB5 I thought she was a hoot.

Daniel-X 16-08-2015 04:43 PM

Gina isn't good but she isn't that bad. She's overrated to hell on here and Hazel and Sallie were much better housemates but she doesn't offend me that much

Black Dagger 16-08-2015 05:01 PM

Sallie was ****e. Perfect first boot

Sallie was 14's Helen (although far less aggressive) , except she went when her time was due

Jason. 16-08-2015 05:18 PM

I'd agree to the above. Although, another difference is Helen had a clique which caused a divide in the house and anyone who wasn't on her side, she hated. Whereas I thought Sallie just had a problem with Dexter, and got along with everyone else.

Lostie! 16-08-2015 05:21 PM

A Sallie / Gina double eviction in Week 1 would have been rather glorious. I can just picture them arguing during their shared night on BOTS. :hee:
