Attack The Block and it was bloody fantastic. I loved the aesthetic of London presented in it. I've never actually been to London but it's set in these parts of it that look almost futurist dystopian. Just endless apartment blocks, security gates and tube lighting. Proper Nineteen Eighty Four.

Anyway everything about it was just great, I thought. Good action, performances, sharp dialogue - the pallid little stoner kid is great - etc etc. Looking foward to watching it again.

Also watched the Nic Cage Bad Lieutenant which I also can't say a bad word about. I've got a crazy man crush on Cage anyway and this is another of his great performances. And he's nothing like the drunk he played in Leaving Las Vegas. In this one he's much more cocksure and slovenly. Far more of a wild caricature than the affected wino he played in Leaving Las Vegas. Eva Mendes looks hot in it too. She's no Salma Hayek but whatever.

Next up is Rocky V which surprised the balls off me by being much, much better than I remember it. He's son's still a riddiculous prick - that ear piercing is horrid - and there is no big boxing showdown so I can see why people loath it but I love Balboa's changing relationship with Tommy Gun and the street fight at the end is awesome. Rocky busts out a drop toe hold and suplex for christ sake.

Next up is the Alien films on Blu Ray.

What Frozen?

I hated the part where she woke up and had left her hand on the safety bar and it was stuck and she had to pull it off. It made me shudder.

right now watching in time with justin timberlake. So far recommend it. Just seen the bit where his mum died right in front of him. if only they'd ran faster he woulda save her. so sad :bawling:

It's a Wonderful Life, I liked it.

Stu 28-12-2011 03:30 AM

I like Justin Timberlake much, much more than his acting ability should allow me to. I love seeing him in movies for some reason.

Source Code - 8.5/10

A lot better than I expected it to be. Similar to Inception in a few ways, everyone that likes that should watch this.

Gangs of New York - thought it was amazing, with a really interesting setting as well, never knew the City was anything like that back then, the final scene was epic as well. 9/10

Yeah he is, I'm more of a Di Caprio fan but I thought Daniel Day Lewis was actually better in this, even though both were amazing. I liked that there wasn't really just a "good guy" and a "bad guy" in the film as well, it wasn't as black and white

I'm a huge Leo fan and actually went to see this as he was in it... but DDL just blew me away to be honest... he does the same in every film he's in.

Stu 29-12-2011 01:50 AM

I found it very drawn out. The story of it's production is enthralling though. Martin Scorsese and Harvey Weinstein clashed over the length of it many times, apparently.

Also wasn't it the one where Daniel Day Lewis refused to take a bath in keeping with his method acting? He hummed that film up good and proper I think.

The Negotiator - 7/10

Really good all the way through but the end was a bit predictable.

Roy Mars III 30-12-2011 07:27 AM

Drive 9.5/10

The best movie I have seen all year. The soundtrack is one of the best I have ever heard.
