Hosts England crashed to a humiliating four-wicket loss to the Netherlands off the last ball of a thrilling opening to the World Twenty20 at a rainy Lord's.

Ravi Bopara (46) and Luke Wright (71) put on 100 but England struggled for boundaries and finished on 162-5.

Tom de Grooth smashed 49 and Peter Borren 30 as the minnows attacked.

The Dutch needed seven off the last over and two off the final ball and sealed a stunning win thanks to an overthrow from bowler Stuart Broad.

The defeat leaves England in danger of failing to qualify from their three-team group.

Rijkaard takes Galatasaray post

Frank Rijkaard has been appointed technical director of Turkish side Galatasaray, replacing Bulent Korkmaz.

The 46-year-old had been out of football since leaving his post as Barcelona coach at the end of the 2007/2008 season.

Rijkaard, a former Dutch international, took over at Barcelona in 2003 and won La Liga in 2005 and 2006, as well as the Champions League in 2006.

He also had a two-year spell as Holland coach from 1998-2000.
