We have also had debates as to questions raised as to climate change, another serious issue facing the World, which was not one of JFs and mine coalitions policies either.

It is in chat and games, very true. however, as it is clear someone is getting at me here a bit, because one of our policies raised comments from others and also questions which I responded to and answered.I would like to point out, this is also supposed to be an election and much of it is light hearted.
In reality, elections raise serious issues, only one person has objected to the whole thing anyway,so I cannot see a problem.

Maybe what does matter a bit is that it is clear on the serious issues of our policies and also the more lighter and humorous side of some of our other policies, we can at least fully explain our reasoning behind how we arrived at them with no difficulty.

I am personally a serious sort of person, this election, which is an election for fun obviously, doesn't mean it doesn't 'have' to be not played out in the format of as near a real one as is possible.

There are around 7 posts on all the other pages relating to the crime issue mentioned by Shaun above, around 7 posts out of all the total posts over 14 pages, hardly a running issue never mind long enough to be a regular ongoing debate.

Perhaps we should make a note in case this election happens again and you and Joey have to prepare a manifesto in the future. As much as we support the rights of disabled people, we would ban partially-sighted referees. So that's about two thirds of them.

As our campaign manager and brilliant one at that, make that note and if kate does bring this back again sometime next year or subsequent years, we can certainly look at such a policy in the future.

Playing devils advocate and inviting comments from all sides for fairness, maybe any future elections should have a ground rule of no more than 4 mods to a party?

Thoughts?

I think that's very valid. They know the most people and interract with the most people. Be interesting to hear what they think.

I agree and Livia also makes a superb response, stating totally valid points,(as she would anyway), in her response to what you said.

Just to add, after some thought, if this does return in the future, I'd make it more structured, keep the fun element we've had of course, just define procedures and guidelines for policies. I intended it to be tibb policies, but didn't officially specify it, so parties have approached it very differently, so I'd learn from that next time. It's been fairly successful, I didn't think it would take off to the extent it has, that's due to all of your efforts and enthusiasm. I'm also pleased by the fact that there's been no arguing, a good vibe, and its been a pleasure to be part of and even get to interact more with members I don't often cross paths with.

:)

Don't know what the ref at the West Ham/Reading game was thinking. I'd reintroduce the death penalty just for him.

Not just the referee, the whole officiating team deserve it

It's been good fun Kate. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.

My brother's a seaon ticket holder. I spoke to him afterwards and he was in bits. He said it was awful... people were so p****d off a fight broke out behind him. He suggests changing it from WHU to WHY.

The Coalition could ensure more West Ham wins next time. I'll have a word with JF and Joey.

I have to agree with you again, on the face of the post starting this off,I understood it as looking at tibb as a constituency and candidates being nominated to be the tibb MP in Parliament.
That was why we concentrated more on National issues.Based on all we have debated and read as to other members views on threads on the forum.

It did sort of develop it's own way after that. However, I think it has been a success overall, people had to work together and a lot of effort and time went into the manifestos,I know that because JF and I spent lot of time in pms planning it all.As did Livia too.

to the present there are near 70 members who have voted in it too.Next time in a framework and clearer guidelines I believe it will be as interesting if not more so even it is set only around the tibb forum and its contents.

I think you suggested a good idea on this,it would be nice if it continued. I have enjoyed it, one day I may be in real life looking at going into politics anyway, this has helped me see some things I may have to deal with, the other thing is though, all the things we had on here as policies are things I would fight for in the real world too.

We all learn something every day, this could have turned into a very difficult and nasty exercise, yet all through it, it has been a good and interesting experiment.Creating quite a few surprises too.
So I want to thank you kate for suggesting it and bringing it about.

Yeah it's gutting, especially after the way the first 40 minutes went as well.. just hope the Coalition can deliver on this

joeysteele 01-04-2012 12:02 AM

Many thanks Legend Killer, where have you been anyway?

Mystic Mock 01-04-2012 03:14 AM

I've seen inside Mollie's Chambers, she conviently leaves out Torture Chambers to lure you in like she did me.:bawling:

Btw if your wondering how it happened she promised me a vote if I visited it.

If only I knew she created The Piddles Party at the time.:bawling::joker:

..Maybe I'm looking at this wrong..but the way I see it...it's a bit like playing a board game (only using this analogy because I did that yesterday)..some people approach it differently..and maybe some competitiveness creeps in (It's not for me to say about that one)..and...well...there might be momentary frustration..because you've been completely outwitted..but..if..any of that is the case..then 5 minutes later we'll be laughing again

:joker:I know, I thought what's going on,then I realised what day it is. Kate, if you do this in the future, can it possible to be done,(if of course you wanted it to be), where the voting can be going on but until the polls closed, the votes cast so far couldn't be seen.
