Shame the rating wasn't great at 10pm.. though saying that the share is pretty impressive!

I just hope the producers, directors, whoever's actually in charge of commission, continues to look at the shares. As we know, this year, more than ever people aren't watching Live TV, so for CBB to hold a 10% share imo is pretty impressive after nearly 15 years, and hopefully the ratings - if they turn out low in the long run - suggest there's still a strong marketplace for Celebrity Big Brother. My main issue is civilian, it got a 5.6% share, compared to Channel 5's annual average of 4.4% of the market.

Just so anybody's interested, I thought it'd be interesting to showcase the shares and ratings of each CBB. (NOTE - The viewers in millions are official ratings, therefore the actual share is not representative of the overall viewing population, but I was interested to see if there's a correlation considering most officials increase 200-300K.)

CBB8 - 2.8M (12%) (S)
CBB9 - 2.6M (10%)
CBB10 - 2.2M (9.4%) (S)
CBB11 - 2.8M (9.9%)
CBB12 - 2.3M (9.9%) (S)
CBB13 - 3.0M (10.9%)

CBB14 - 2.32M (9.4%) (S)

So currently.. CBB14 is pretty much on par with the previous summer series, ever so slightly higher than CBB12. And with the same share as CBB10 of 9.4% the viewing figures for Celebrity Big Brother are extremely stable.

Overall CBB on Channel 5 holds an average of 2.57 million viewers. With an average share of 10.2%.

So in all, the current run of Summer CBB14 is underpar with the total average, however still up on the average in terms of numbers for summer, and on par with the share of 9.4%. Of course, a week's official ratings aren't a lot to go by, but in terms of stability, CBB is doing extremely well. Of course, summer and winter must be spoken of separately.

Not me bbaus starts Monday that runs till end of November bring it on

1.6m last night without plus one https://twitter.com/overnightstv/sta...49779757252608

Interest has definitely waned since the first 2 weeks.

With only 8 days left its safe to say this will be the lowest rated CBB. Im thinking an official average of around 2.1.

*mazedsalv** 04-09-2014 10:02 AM

It's 1.78m incl +1 Dan.

As it was 1.62m and then 157k on +1.

Its on the low side but I'm not surprised with the football and Our Zoo facing it (which followed the HUGE Bake Off). I think that this series will probably rate at 2.2m officially, the same as CBB10.

That is really bad for a celebrity series - though not much has been happening in there. Tasks are rubbish and they are not given much to do. And it had a very promising start!!

mrmattybeck1 05-09-2014 10:01 AM

That's what happens wen you get rid of the entertaining housemates

daniel-lewis-1985 05-09-2014 10:01 AM

Not surprised im finding it such a chore to watch now after such an amazing start.

It was up against educating the east end aswell mind which I bet had a good 3 million.

1.8m it got

Rob! 05-09-2014 10:13 AM

Yeah it got hammered last night - last in it's slot I think. :(

ITV's new drama got 3.58m and BBC2 got 1.9.

Rob! 05-09-2014 10:27 AM

According to Salv the ratings king ( :worship: ) on DS, +1 added a fair amount bringing it to 1.7.

Educating The East End only got 1.8?! I was expecting that to have a fairly big audience.

Does anyone know the +1 for CBB?

Oh wow not too bad then

*mazedsalv** 05-09-2014 10:55 AM

It got 1.65m incl +1.

Such a shame, its the people's fault for not voting to save Frenchy :( I voted her and Gary. Now, knowing the public, Gary and James will be out tonight...

It seems that this series will be the lowest CBB, well, you know, if BB was the lowest ever, it only makes sense that the CBB following it would be too. :(

It sucks - especially as this series started so strongly.

Educating East End got 2.2m incl +1 so I am sure that dented it.

mrmattybeck1 06-09-2014 10:29 AM

1.65m without plus one last night

Loukas 06-09-2014 11:19 AM

The latest Celebrity Big Brother live eviction peaked with 1.74 million on Channel 5.

Friday's (September 5) double eviction entertained an average audience of 1.61 million (8.4%) from 9pm, as Kellie Maloney and Stephanie Pratt were the latest to leave the house

In a change from the regularly scheduled programming, it was followed by 811k (5.9%) for an episode of The Joan Rivers Position and 519k (0.9%) for Big Brother's Bit on the Side.

And tonight's a Saturday

daniel-lewis-1985 06-09-2014 12:58 PM

Poor and a 0.9% share for bots? that's terrible.

Could tonight drop below 1 million for the first time in CBB history?

Remember last Saturday got 1.09 without +1.

At least Gary and James stayed last night worship :)

Jake. 06-09-2014 03:34 PM

0.9% for bots is a mistake

daniel-lewis-1985 06-09-2014 06:13 PM

CBB starts at an awkward time again tonight after all other shows have started so it will be a very low figure for tonights show.

They should just stick it on at 10.

Why is it us forum members seem to be better at scheduling than the actual people getting paid for it lol.

I genuinally think the answer to that is yes. Sad times.
