I remember starting work when CBB13 was on and people were talking about that episode where Jasmine went in the house again via the clock and Lee Ryan's eviction. Things like that.

yeah, in January everyone started sending stupid emails to all the students.

It all started when someone asked whats their thoughts of the music builiding being refurbished were (Which was a serious email).

And then everyone started sending silly emails, like I've lost my button, my pen lid has gone missing.

And I remember a few people sent emails saying get KH out of the house.

For some reason I have a feeling that BB17 will be good.

I have a feeling they will scrap the themes for next year since they have all sucked bar Secrets and Lies, plus they did that survey asking if people liked them and I can't imagine anyone saying they liked Timebomb/Power Trip.

So if anything they will probably do a Secrets and Lies v2 (Then again they never listen to surveys so what I'm saying is useless)

Will. 05-09-2015 12:49 PM

Yeah I think CBB17 could be ok.

Yeah, but then they went ahead and had a theme for CBB16 afterwards. I like to think they will the drop the themes but now they're even being used for CBB as well which doesn't give me much hope tbh.

They just need to scrap the twists and have a major twist once or twice every series like halfway through. Not silly little twists every week which just looks messy, and a really good cast so they provide all the drama themselves instead of manufactured drama from the producers and constant twists to make it entertaining. Basically BB13

I have a feeling that CBB17 might be a bit lacklustre compared to the past two January series. I really hope I'm wrong and they do surprise us sometimes.

Anyway 1.7m is good as far as I'm concerned.

Jason. 05-09-2015 12:51 PM

I don't have high hopes for CBB17 either tbh.

TBF I don't really have high hopes for BB at all anymore given what we've had for the last 2 years :worry:

I always know when ever C5 do something good, they will muck it up afterwards. They did that with BB14 to BB15. And with CBB13 to CBB15.

Let's give credit where it's due though - this series has really worked so far. I don't think the ratings it's currently getting are going to mean any desperate tricks like the 4in 4out twist.

Oaker 05-09-2015 12:54 PM

This series so far has given me hope that they are learning from their mistakes.

We have more LF, natural drama and I actually really liked the Launch Night (Apart from the tacky start and end).

Yeah, I mean this series is only rating badly because of lack of interest not because it's a bad series.

I mean low ratings don't always mean bad series. Look at CBB3 (my fave CBB series) which averaged 4.3m which was lower than any other C4 series at the time. That was still considered a good series in general even then despite rating lower than the 4.6m C4 were used to.

Loving this series don't get why numbers are so low

Will. 05-09-2015 01:22 PM

god sake, DS haven't included the +1 in the article, just it peaked at 1.73M

Same. We've had two diabolical civilian series. A third crap one will make me switch off completely. There's only so many chances these producers can get...

Jamesy 05-09-2015 01:38 PM

I'm liking this series so far, and the task this week was very 'C4', apart from when the task went to the whole tacky housemates having a fake interview being asked negative questions while other housemates watch thing. The task team need to be more creative and stop defaulting to the usual negative questions and answers thing. They did it for every single task for BB16, just dressed up differently each time. Just have normal ****ing tasks, ones that will create tension and drama themselves because they involve teamwork... also bring back overnight tasks like the C4 days.

The editing is still a mess in places too, especially the VT at the start, and also the way Marcus says the warnings.

It's a shame this show after two years of being able to improve and work from the hype of BB14 cannot balance being modern and sticking to the routes of the show. Stop with the tackiness.

1.04 including +1

*mazedsalv** 06-09-2015 11:05 AM

1.04m incl +1 last night. Expected. It was 130k up on last Saturday and around 200k down on what last summer Saturdays were getting.

Tonight I predict 1.5m.

Still no news on the +1 from Friday, but it should be between 1.60m-1.65m, if it was above 1.62m it would have been the highest since launch.

MrWong 07-09-2015 10:23 AM

1.18m without +1 :inamood:

Shame really as I'm enjoying this series.

*mazedsalv** 07-09-2015 01:03 PM

It got 1.31m incl +1 last night :( Despite the poor overnights, the BARB officials for the first 4 shows have been released, and they look quite impressive. They are adding 400k-500k on average which is far better than the 200k average BB16 was.

Saturday's +1 rating is not there, so it's a Saturday excl +1 rating. In brackets are what the overnights were.

Launch- 2.66m (2.22m)
Friday- 2.03m (1.55m)
Saturday- 1.34m excl +1 (910k). I think it was around 1.40m incl
Sunday- 1.71m (1.17m)

1.94m average for the first 4 episodes.

Impressive timeshifts there, especially for the Sunday which I expected barely 1.5m official, but it timeshifted 540k! So if these timeshifts carry on then we could expect quite a few 1.9m-2.0m judging by the ratings overnights we have seen the past week. For example, last nights poor rating of 1.31m would be something along the lines of 1.8-1.9m

Kai Anders 07-09-2015 01:37 PM

Those are quite impressive. Just a shame advertisement and money wise most profit comes from overnight figures. Hopefully it holds up.

I hardly watch anything live these days myself most recorded and on demand

Jake. 07-09-2015 04:55 PM

The launch for CBB14 was officially 2.61 (no plus 1 figure available), so that's pretty impressive

*mazedsalv** 07-09-2015 05:58 PM

Confirmed that the official for Saturday with +1 was 1.42m.

So:

Launch- 2.66m. Up 440k on the overnight of 2.22m.
Friday- 2.03m. Up 480k on the overnight of 1.55m.
Saturday- 1.42m. Up 510k on the overnight of 910k.
Sunday- 1.71m. Up 540k on the overnight of 1.17m.

Increased in timeshift everyday. However don't expect to see over half a million timeshifts for the rest as I'm guessing those extra recording numbers were because it was Bank Holiday weekend. I'm going to expect ~400k increases on average which would bring the show to around a 1.8m official.

Rob! 08-09-2015 10:46 AM

1.32m excl +1 (6.5%) for last night. Still waiting on +1.

Nope, excl +1 it was 1.37m :)

So, it's certainly looking it will be over 1.50m with +1.

Kai Anders 08-09-2015 12:58 PM

Seems there might be life in the old dog yet with those time shift ratings!

*mazedsalv** 08-09-2015 01:58 PM

Big Brother climbed to 1.54m incl +1 last night.

If the timeshifts are as impressive for this week than they were for the first 4 shows, we could see quite a few 2m ratings officially.
