Is that actually confirmed? :skull:

I just thought it was a rumour

well on the auditions website it says this:

Quote:

You must be 18 years of age by July 31 2018
So it must start after 31 July :skull:

I'm happy with civilian airing on late summer nights because it'll probably do better than early summer nights when everybody is usually out and the media is distracted by BGT and then Love Island.

Cal. 20-01-2018 07:13 PM

They're making a grave mistake airing CBB22 against Love Island if that is their plan though. CBB's audience are much more fickle and more likely to go to Love Island whilst civilian's audience is made up of loyal hardcore fans that would watch regardless. It wouldn't surprise me if Love Island makes CBB22 a lot closer to civilian than it ever has been.

The thing is Love Island has double the viewers BB has now and the last series averaged higher than any BB series has in 8 years, so the two aren't really comparable anymore as LI is attracting people that weren't interested in BB in the first place.

The only BB comparable to Love Island is the summer CBB. They air at a similar time of the year, both have similar audiences and both formats are quite similar. January CBB reaches a far wider audience as more people sit indoors and watch TV in the evenings in January than they would in the summer when beer gardens and BBQs seem more attractive and civilian BB has been well and truly over since 2014. However, summer CBB will well and truly lose the war this summer.

Civilian BB had a brief reprieve for BB17 when it increased in ratings and beat the popular Love Island 2 mind.

Jason. 20-01-2018 07:19 PM

I forgot LI3 averaged higher than CBB19.

Jodie. 20-01-2018 07:20 PM

Someone said they think BB19 will start late because of the audition website but Big Blagger said it’s still planned for a June/July launch and the reason it says applicants must be 18 or over by the 31st of July “can’t be disclosed at the moment.” I’ll find the tweet in a sec

There can't be a reason other than them launching it later. They couldn't have under 18s in the house.

LI didn't really peak until last year.

The first series rated below a million and then it became mainstream in the second series with increasing ratings, before finally exploding last year.

A BB3 tea!

Oaker 20-01-2018 07:22 PM

well if it launches in June then that means that there's either going to be late entrants every week or civilians in CBB :skull:

Realistic enough.
BB19 wouldn't get past 1m, no matter what they do. They can't stop this decline any longer. I wonder if CBB's even worth it, financially (outcome/income ratio).
Yes, CBB gets better rating, but unlike the civilian, they have enormous paychecks for the celebs - so I'm not sure if the profit is worthwhile.

Sooner or later they'll have to kill it. Are they really willing to renew the contract for another 2/3 years, when it's not going to get any better? They'll be shackling themselves to a sinking boat.

We don't need Love Island brought into it because we all know the only reason it got that many viewers is because of Chris & Liv

Listen **** off I didn't say it peaked in series 2 but series 2 was still highly popular therefore it was an achievement BB17 managed to beat it with a quarter of its press and media coverage!

It's actually mad how well BB17 did considering that BB16 and BB18 were massive flops. The fact that the final week was still getting figures on par with week 1 was really impressive.

LI2 only averaged less overall because the first week averaged 1.2m and brought it down.

As it went on, it began averaging around the same as BB17.

IGNORANT cow.

You're trying to say some trashy ITV2 show out rated Charlie Doherty's show?
