I just hope your a happy soul, that makes me happy.

To be honest, I remember not really being too bothered about it at the time, after he came out, he was so much happier in life, my mum stood by him too. Now I have a second dad who is as important to me as my actual dad is too.

Not that I'm aware of.
Straight bloke who finds wearing male and female clothes enjoyable.
Same like Grayson Perry.

That's news to me. Thank you.

Still, not gay as sheriff said.

I personally think he's still just a cross dresser but is putting another label on it .

I knew I didn't imagine him saying it though :joker:.

I didn't know.

The only people they were kidding when they entered into marriage were themselves..it wasn't that fashionable or necessary to get married 29 years ago.

And how's your mum?

I'm more bothered about your relationship with her about it all in this discussion.

But again, I'm not the best person to be discussing this with:nono:

Did they say they got married because it was necessary or fashionable?

She died 17 years ago, from an illness she'd had since I was pretty young. My life sounds kinda like a soap when I go back and describe everything

That's sad to hear Scarlett.

And tbf some people's lives can be more dramatic than others, just as long as you don't start hearing about someone's twin being hidden behind a mirror or portrait like out of Sunset Beach I think it was, then your life isn't a Soap.

I hope that you're doing okay anyway Scarlett.:)

Between the Mirror and the Sun, I've come to the shocking realisation that tabloids have no idea how to use an ellipsis properly

Ammi 08-02-2020 05:26 AM

...I’m coming to terms with it, MB...

Ammi 08-02-2020 05:26 AM

...to...terms with...it..

I noticed this article, relevant to what you've been talking about in this thread, about women who find out about their husbands after many years of marriage.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51413187

Ammi 08-02-2020 06:36 AM

...I’d literally just read that, James.....I’ve been looking at stories of people who ‘came out’ later in life, from both sides of the relationship if they’ve had a long term relationship/marriage...maybe for some, it’s something that they ‘block’, so there lives can still feel fairly complete until they start to realise an emptiness they’d pushed to the side before...especially as with someone like Philip Scofield, who has had so much in his life to focus on...his life has been so filled with great opportunities/great working life/great family/great friends etc...so that enabling that sub conscious blocking to become easier and to be sustained through much time...

...there’s a great quote from an author, which feels as though it might apply...

...’the greatest illusion’ said the mole...’is that life should be perfect’...

thesheriff443 08-02-2020 07:10 AM

It’s funny how all the ficus is on poor Phil being gay but having to hide it, he has been lying to his wife of 27 years.

He was asked was he gay back in the nineties had he ever slept with a man and was his marriage to hide the fact he was gay.

We don’t know the full details of how long his wife knew but making Phil out a tormented soul is utter crap.

He has got it off his little chest but left his wife now to deal with it.
