It's delicious and relatively easy but you need eggs, which are also AWOL in a lot of supermarkets.

Vanessa 16-03-2020 08:39 AM

I found pasta in Lidl, but no toilet roll :fist: Will try the 99 p shop or Pundland.

There is no need to clear out an entire Supermarket, we all just need to buy just a little bit extra than we normally would just in case there is a lockdown. It's not the Apocalypse like some of these hoarders are treating it as.

There's lockdown in Italy, but the supermarkets are always open. As they're essential. But there's a queue.

yeah I wondered about that, as obviously its the only shop apart from the pharmacy they can go to and unless people stagger their going out times, there will be a queue

They only allow three people at the time.

Denver 16-03-2020 09:26 AM

They need the army to man the supermarkets that way they can stop people over buying and stop them sending their family and freinds in after

Denver 16-03-2020 09:28 AM

I dont understand why people need 100 rolls of toilet paper a house when the side effects has nothing to do with needing toilet paper

Toilet rolls can be so much cheaper than tissues, and the is a lot of coughing and spluttering ahead.

Liam- 16-03-2020 09:37 AM

I think it’s also a case of if we are completely **** down and forced to stay inside, imagine running out of toilet paper a week into a 2 month forced quarantine

AnnieK 16-03-2020 09:37 AM

Aldi had limits of 4 per customer for tinned stuff, no toilet rolls or pasta and very few eggs. It was manic though....on a slightly better note the m60 was like a Sunday morning at rush hour....

Twosugars 16-03-2020 10:36 AM

Gonna do a shop today, Monday lunchtime shouldn't be busy. Wonder how our local supermarkets are holding up

Crimson Dynamo 16-03-2020 10:38 AM

the CEO of Aldi just emailed me to reassure me :)

I was in the local co-op today (which has full shelves other than paracetamol...) and all of the old folks were out, I felt really bad for them. Chatting away in little groups - none really worried about Covid but all really scared that they're going to be "forced" to stay in their houses for 4 months. Doesn't help that that's what's plastered all over the front of the newspaper stand. All saying "I'm getting out for my morning walk while I'm still allowed".

Honestly I think so much damage is being done that goes way beyond the scope of the infection itself and no one is really paying much attention.

Was down in my local shop this morning, they had everything although they were low on eggs [emoji173][emoji40]

The PM and his team are Live later this afternoon
needs to Lay the Law down
and warn all - Army Control
would be worse/

Nothing Is Ruled Out

Look at the Italy Death Count
1,809
because they got a Minister (Right Wing)
leaking the Lockdown in the North to
start the next day,

so Thousands Rushed south
ending up spreading Covid 19
wild all over sad Italy.

Same happened in Spain, originally there were going to be just 4 regions in lockdown, but they released the info and many headed to the Costas

Surely the supermarkets have to take some responsibility for people stockpiling. I mean, no pasta, eggs or toilet roll.... anywhere. Tell the stupid stockpilers that they're limited to what they can buy.

Limits are in place.
Online as well.
But you can buy 2x24 loo roll packs, maybe they need to cut it down.
Footfall is massive at the minute so more people are buying what’s on the shelves.
