If this was a professional tournament I'd have no issues but for amateurs to have such an opponent they have to fight is not fair.

Firstly, anyone who gets into the ring knows exactly the danger's. They know they're gonna get hurt thus why I have fewer issues if this was in the pros. In the amateurs you cannot pick and choose your fights. You have to fight pretty much anyone put in front and that IMO is why this is not fair. Someone is going to get quite seriously hurt and I'd like to know if there is any legal avenues in the amateur's for the fghters

I also dont think much to the fighter. She knows she has an advantage does she not have a conscience about her clear physical advantage. IF not then turn pro and we'll see how far she gets. The fact she's lost over half a dozen times tells me she doesnt have much skill. All she has is the fact she is bigger, stronger and more powerful than every opponent. This is a sickening spectacle.

I fear this will continue until someone dies. And maybe even then...

Vanessa 02-08-2024 05:26 PM

I have no idea if she's female or not.
But surely it wasn't a fair fight?
The Italian boxer looked really upset.

Glenn. 02-08-2024 05:28 PM

She quit then blamed the other boxer for her quitting because she was stronger than her.

Wise decision. She might have got seriously hurt.

Exactly. They didn't seem matched weight wise?

Good points

The brutality of the sport is one of its great draws, for me as a fan of all fighting disciplines. I dont want to see this though. I dont want to see, in the amateurs, a woman fight someone who, for all intents and purposes, is basically a man without a penis. That is not what amateur sport is about IMO.

If she wants to turn pro, where the opponents receive more funding, are better trained and get paid to fight etc then Id have fewer issues but this is not what amateur fighting is about IMO.

I wish Miss Khalif well but hope she find a more suitable level to fight

The risk you take when stepping in the boxing ring with someone stronger than you

Exactly. So we agree.

GiRTh 02-08-2024 05:52 PM

Do we think is OK at all levels of the sport. What is if was under 15 fighting an adult. Would we be OK with that?

Liam- 02-08-2024 05:52 PM

Yes, nobody should get in the ring if they’re scared of being punched too hard

Crimson Dynamo 02-08-2024 05:55 PM

Has a single pro-boxer of note come out in support of this bonkers decision

or is it just glen and liam?

Even if they are not getting paid?

Trust me, they know the risk but Heavyweights dont spar with lightweights. Unless the lightweight is an outstanding fighter, of course, and the heavyweight aint so good.

Let me put it this way, if I saw a mismatch in a gym then it'd be the last time I went to that gym and I'd probably report it to everyone I know

(In before you act like a world champion who actually fought her isn't of note)

Glenn. 02-08-2024 06:20 PM

LTs just clocking himself now :joker:

Crimson Dynamo 02-08-2024 06:20 PM

So one woman boxer who beat this person (who as Girth has stated) isn't very good just a big bloke in the wrong sex division)

I was kind of hoping for a bit better

GiRTh 02-08-2024 06:22 PM

She's 25 and still an amateur. ITs like an adult taking on children. She needs to turn pro but then she might find it a bit too difficult. Likes I say, a sickening spectacle.

Agreeing with LT.

With her advantage she cant be taken seriously if she's losing to weaker women. With her advantage she should be smashing all her opponents.

If it was a 25 year old tennis players, theyd be smashing all the weaker women cuz they're just stronger, fitter etc

‘With her advantage she should be smashing all her opponents’

And she isn’t doing that as her record shows, so the issue is that she was just better than this women she beat yesterday
