I just read about it. What an idiot.
I wonder who'll win the MITB now then? |
I was so sure that it would be Jeff now I'm totally not sure.I wonder who will take Jeff's place?

That's devastating. Things are really bad for Jeff right now.

I have not posted on here for a while , which is a shame considering its one of the few good threads in a forum that has sunk to absymal levels.
Im looking foward to Wrestlemania ALOT this year. I was never into Michaels and Cena last year , because lets face it , it was supposed to be Triple H in that match. And the Undertaker/Batista thing , as good as a match it was , did not interest me [mainly due to Batistas suits usualy having more charisma than he does]. Apart from that , Wrestlemania 23 was FAR too much about the battle of the billionaires [Vince aint a billionaire , for the record]. This year is different however. The whole Floyd Mayweather angle has me interested because nobody , including Vince , is quiet sure what the match stipulations are. As a shameless Edge mark also , im eager to see him beat Taker , which he wont , prompting me to scream at my TV at half three in the morning. As for the triple threat , im hoping Triple H wins. Beyond that , I would rather Randy retain than Cena win , not out of hatred for Cena , but because of the simple booking philosophy that watching a good guy struggle to get the title is much better than watching the bad guy trying to chase the good guy [remember those dreadful two years of non stop Cena PPV wins? We are all ****ed if thats going to be 2008 again]. Oh and of course , the show is outdoors , which is bound to make everything interesting to watch as usual presentation wise. |
I think the two world title fights will be very good, it's just a shame that both of them are incredibly easy to predict. Can anyone see past Taker and Triple H walking away with the belts?
Flair vs HBK should be another very good match and a probably a nice way for Ric to end his in-ring career.I still would've liked it to have been a younger guy to beat him and really make a name for himsel.I cannot begrudge Flair ending things with a match against someone as good as HBK though. Mayweather vs Show's been really built up well but the match might just turn out to be a farce, how an earth's it going to work? I suppose the uncertainty behind it adds to the interest. Bunnymania will be the perfect toilet break. It just looks a mess to me. Finlay vs JBL's been another well done feud, the match might not be much in terms of technique but a good old brawl is always fun. The battle of the brands between Batisa and Umaga should be full of power moves and not much else.It should be decent though. Money in the bank might steal the show.I don't think there's one stanout predictable winner and that can only be a good thing. |

Hey guys, I'm in Florida right now. Off to Mania tomorrow, can't wait!
Went to Mania Rocks The Block at Wall Street Plaza on Thursday, met Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Melina, Jillian, Jimmy Yang and the girl who won the most recent Diva Search. They were all really cool, especially Melina. I've got some good pictures which I'll post when I get back home on Wednesday. |

How lucky are you? haha.
I'm looking forward to Mania now! MITB is looking the best to me so far, I can't wait to watch it. And Floyd Mayweather vs Big Show should be really interesting. I'm not looking forward to seeing Randy lose though, but I guess with HHH being the almost certain new champ, it's better than Cena! |
There's 30% chance of rain tommorow night, so I could be getting wet at the Citrus Bowl.
Tried to meet CM Punk on the Wednesday at the Wal-Mart but the que was huge so decided not to wait, same with Carlito at the Double Tree Hotel yesterday. |
You should've gone to Chris Jericho's book signing on Thursday.
|
For those of you who watched the Hall Of Fame on Sky Sports , it was HORRIBLY butchered. Same with USA Network. Flairs speech went an ungodly 90 minuets , meaning roughly one ninth of it was seen on Sky.
Heres the full transcript... http://www.wrestlezone.com/article.p...leid=208855932 Rock was amazing too last night. Makes you depressed about how nothing or nobody in the business today comes close to him. How I miss him. And JBL was on funny form as usual too. Cant wait to watch the full hall of fame on DVD. |
I completely forgot to record it yesterday. I really enjoyed The Rock's speech, he is amazing, I miss him a LOT. But I haven't had chance to watch Flairs induction and I don't think I'd be able to just yet, for 90 minutes, wow.

I've only seen The Rock's speech so far, just seeing that made me realise how much he is missed.

Its pissing in Orlando. Should be interesting. Have a great show everyone. Heres my official picks as posted on the UKFF forum...
WINNERS IN BOLD! WWE Championship: Randy Orton © vs John Cena vs HHH I want it to be Triple H , but I think too many people are assuming its going to be him. World Heavyweight Champion: Edge vs. Undertaker Again , not my preffered pick. Undertaker better be the Ric Flair of Wrestlemania 25. Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs. Big Show Im hoping for a returning star , but thats too hard to pick right now. Big Show has to look strong , so Floyd does a runner while Big Show trashes his crew. Ric Flair vs. Shawn Michaels (Career Threatening Match) Theirs no justification at this point for this match NOT to go on last. Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Chris Jericho vs Shelton Benjamin vs John Morrison vs Carlito vs MVP vs Mr Kennedy vs CM Punk Its open between three men [you know the three] but im intrigued by the prospect of Kennedy cashing it in on the same night. SmackDown vs. Raw: Batista vs. Umaga The only man on the planet who cares about this match is Michael Cole , and if smackdown win , we wont hear the end of it from him for the rest of the show. 24-Man Battle Royal - Winner faces ECW Champion - Chavo vs. Kane I dont expect Kane to have it for long if he wins. Expect him to be just the guy for the next big ECW heel to topple. Finlay vs. JBL - Belfast Brawl Hornswoggle intereferes. Yada yada. Hopefully these two beat the living **** out of each other. Should be fun to watch. BunnyMania Lumberjack Match: Ashley & Maria vs. The Glamazon & Melina vs. Who Gives A Toss Late third team entered. Their my picks :p. |
WWE Championship Match
Triple Threat Match Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena vs. Triple H A few weeks back most thought Triple H would win but there's quite a few swaying towards Cena now.I'm going to stick with predicting that the game will win this one, he's not had a proper reign in a while now so cannot see it staying that way. World Heavyweight Championship Match Edge (c) vs. The Undertaker Edge has held the title for a while now and we all know about Taker's record at Mania.I can only see taker extending that winning run and have the lengthly title reign that he was meant to have last year. Career Threatening Match Ric Flair vs HBK Shawn Michaels. The fat lady is standing in waiting as this will be the end of Flair in my view. It's all set up for an excellent match against a fellow great on the grandest stage of them all.Thank you and goodnight Mr.Flair.WOOOOOOOOOOOO! Money In The Bank Ladder Match Mr. Kennedy vs. Chris Jericho vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito vs. MVP vs. CM Punk vs. John Morrison This was all lined up for a Jeff Hardy win until he ****ed up and failed the drugs test. This leaves 4 possible winners in my eyes and Kennedy will be the one to prevail. Raw vs. SmackDown Umaga vs. Batista Batista to win the battle of the big men. What good or purpose it serves? Don't ask me. The Biggest vs. The Best Big Show vs. Floyd Mayweather The most unpredictable of all the matches on the card.My first thought was a draw to allow for both of them to come out with some credibility, that was until the rules got announced.I'm now thinking Mayweather to get a win via pinfall after someone helps him take out Show,in turn setting up a new feud for Show. Belfast Brawl Finlay vs. JBL I did consider Finaly winning after interference from Hornswoggle but for something just tells me that JBL will get the win, maybe with help from Vince. ECW Championship Match Chavo Guerrero (c) vs. Raw/SmackDown/ECW Battle Royal Winner Kane to win the battle royal but lose against Chavo after some cheating. BunnyMania Lumberjack Match Ashley & Maria vs. Beth Phoenix & Melina maria and ashley win. maria pins Beth setting up a feud between Maria and Beth over the belt. Enjoy the show guys. |
I am still shocked that Randy Orton retained! Take that Amy21! It was shorter than I expected and I thought it was going to close the show but I'm so happy Randy retained.
The MITB was perhaps my favourite match, some of the stuff they did was amazing. And After Jericho, my second pick was CM Punk, so I'm happy for him. Shelton amazed me during that match too. Ric vs Shawn was really sad and I actually had a tear in my eye when he lost. I actually thought it was a good match too Edge vs Taker was a good match to close the show. It was pretty predictable because they weren't going to end Taker's streak really. Mayweather vs Big Show was boring, I didn't enjoy it and thought it was pretty pointless that Mayweather got the win after one shot. The rest was alright but those were the main matches. I was expecting it to be predictable but I sure as hell didn't see Randy retaining. |
Im not really a fan of wresting myself, but my brother is like mad on it - stayed at hsi mates house till 4am last night watching Wrestle Mania, then walked home ( its like a hlf an hour walk ) lol
He has loads of autographs and like action man figure style wrestlers, apparently there worth quite a bit now x =) |
Didn't get back in till about 1am (US time) last night, the crowds of people trying to get out fo the Citrus Bowl stadium was insane!
The show was ace though, the stadium looked amazing and the crowd was really loud for most of the night (don't know how we came across on TV?). Cena got a hell of a lot of boos and Flair definitely got the biggest cheers of the night. The MITB match was brilliant, Flair/HBK was great and both Raw and SD main events were very good. The fans were bored during the Mayweather/Big Show match, chanting "we want wrestling", but we picked up a bit when Show started beating him up. The Snoop Dogg clothesline to Santino got a big pop and a Snoop chant started. There was a qutie a few Orton fans near me and a fair few of us were happy he retained. At the end of the night during the fireworks after Taker won, one of the fireworks fell into the crowd right in the upper section. On the local news this morning it says a couple of people were taken to hospital! Overall it was a fantastic show, I've also been to Mania 21 and 22 and although the matches on those shows were overall better, I think the atmosphere and the size of the arena made this feel more like Wrestlemania. |
My wrestlemania thoughts. Im not going to rant on about the matches themselves too much , rather just write whatever comes to mind.
*** Absoloutely fantastic show. Not from start to finish , and not completely perfect , but to say its anything below average or even rate it amongst the worst of the Wrestlemanias is absoloute insanity. People are allowed their opinions alright so heres mine : some people need to hang their brain up , tune out of reality , and tune into the product while watching a wwe show. Just enjoy it for what it is. The opening shots were fantastic. The Citrus Bowl looked much better in daylight , and would look worse as the night went on. The opening pyro was rubbish , but forgiveable seeing as they did not want to blow too much of it while it was not yet dark. Finlay Vs. JBL was a lot more 'hardcore' than I expected it to be , and thats fine by me. I was expecting a Benoit/JBL esque hard hitting match with zero gimmicks , instead this match was trash cans galore. Still , both men looked as though they worked hard to rush right out of the gates and the crowd responded by staying loud for the duration of this match. Best Money In The Bank ever? I would say so , in the short term. As a match , it was without a doubt one of the most impressive , fast paced spotfests I have ever seen. Morrisons moonsault with Ladder on board was unreal. Shelton Benjamins ladder collapsing from under him as he hopped form ladder to ladder also added a nice touch of something different. The spot where a ladder was planted vertically into a flat ladder , with a number of subsequent moves performed in and around it , was also fantastic. Matt Hardys return was of course , fantastic. He looked for a moment as if he were going to run up their and grab the briefcase for himself. Although I wanted Kennedy to win purely to see what would become of his promise of cashing it in that night , I was happy with the unpredictable Punk win. A distracted crowd , some obviously not working submission spots , and zero chemistry seriously let Batista Vs. Umaga down. Even Michael Cole was quiet during this one. Nothing seemed important and the whole Smackdown Vs. Raw thing never translated. A surprise piss break. Chavo & Kane? Who cares about the match , it was the commentary team of Joey Styles and Taz I felt sorry for. Not much to say really. Cant say the porspect of anything more than a 15 second match between them would have interested me. Flairs match was a strange one for me. From this point on in the card , everything happened in reverse order to what I would have liked it to happen in. The fact that Flair and Michaels did not go on last in the Naitchs swan song was a difficult pill for me to swallow. Still , I got it down , and once I did , I was able to enjoy a fantastic match. It was one of those matches where you really did not know if they were battered , or just really , really good at selling. The finish had me in tears before the ref's hand even hit the mat. Ric seemingly accepting his faith , and an unwilling Shawn apologising before superkicking him , gave me goose bumps. Once the bell had rang , Shawns immediate embrace of Flair and subsequent departure was very well done , leaving the arena floor alone to just the 70,000 plus screaming fans and the Naitch - to take his long - final - walk back to the dressing room as an active competitor. After the greatest wrestler who ever lived made it back stage in his last match , we cut to a Todd Grisham interview , Todd seemingly dismissing what just happened as any other event on Wrestlemania. Ouch. That pills come back up my throat. Take away Snoop Doggs almost non existent appearance , and what you have next is just another diva segment from raw. With just another Jerry 'The King' Lawler decking Santino Marella , who really deserved more mic time than this entire matches run time. Damn I hate triple threats. Especially when nothing but a giant floodlight illuminates the proceedings. And ESPECIALLY when they are not given enough time to build and develop. Hey , at least we still have two faces chasing a heel , and some title changes to still look foward to at Backlash and beyond. Still , why did Orton have to get a fluke what-the-****-just-happened win? Mayweather time next. And when its all said and done , this could have been much better , with much more suspense , but it also could have been an absoloute disaster had Mayweather posessed the dedication of your average Snoop Dogg. Mayweather flew around , managed to convince as both a chickenshit running for his life and a cocky prick [at the same time!] , and was all in all , pefectly acceptable in his role. Now please , wwe , dont **** up the Big Show. Can you say 'Ultimate Opportunist'? Because Michael Cole sure can. And he let his only creative nickname he has ever given to a wrestler take center stage in this flat tyre Wrestlemania main event. As embarrasing as Coach is on commentary , Cole is just as bad at times , and who has been commentating big shows for longer? I maintian my position that Cole is just far too blunt and business like. His commentary is completely stripped of any personality or passion whatsoever. Oh yeah , the match. I sort of tuned out for a lot of it. The finish had me jumping for joy as I thought their was NO CHANCE IN HELL the Undertaker could kick out of a second spear. And he certainly did not. Instead he countered the best heel in the game today with what Cole likes to call ''That submission choke''. Please , Taker , just be next years Ric Flair and get your arse to the UFC. Id rather not watch the same victory celebration Wrestlemania 13 had 11 years later. *** So their we have it. An entertaining , yet frustrating show. Theirs no sour taste in the mouth , thankfully , but the mouth is definately watering to the prospect of a 'new' slate of wwe tv to lead us into Wrestlemania 25. |
Oh yeah forgot to mention Hardy's return, the crowd went nuts for that!
Off to Raw tonight which is at the Amway arena here in Orlando, should be a good show, see what new feuds are going to be set up post Mania. |
Just got back from Raw, amazing night, Flair's farewell was very emotional and it was great to see all the wrestlers past and present come out and say their thanks. The Taker and Vince moments were great. Great to be part of such a historic moment.
