How the heck is Trump at 40%? Even ignoring the stuff from recent weeks his handling of Covid has been awful. I still maintain that without Covid (or if he'd have handled it properly) he'd have walked it, easily. But with his completely ****ting the bed in regards to the pandemic, and the narrative that he encouraged the Capitol riots ... You'd think all but his most devout followers would have drifted.

I'm not sure. We'll never know either way, but this was always a referendum on trump, and the relatively few votes that actually decide these elections always looked to be trending for the dems. He got hammered by the military because he allowed putin to put bounties on the heads of us troops, for example. I think the pandemic is clouding the memories of just how bad he was the rest of the time.

One of those curiosity's that we'll never know, but will always speculate about.
