Rumours abound … that contract talks stalled with Connor Gallagher as his sale will solve many FFP problems..

Yeah i knew that would be a big factor in selling him. I'd like him to stay, but don't see it happening.

GiRTh 21-05-2024 08:31 PM

Surprised. I thought he'd turned it around in the 2nd half of the season.

The word is that he demanded a major say in the signings as opposed to zero

i think the problem at chelsea is that there are too many fingers in the pie. They have 2 joint owners and 2 directors of football. How is that ever going to work

They won't end up with any consequences, because there isn't a big club in the premier league that hasn't done exactly the same. If city get penalties, be prepared for liverpool, arsenal, spurs, chelsea and man u suffering the same consequences

Then all of them should be punished.

If the Footballing world (which in Europe we're all meant to follow similar financial regulations) can give points deductions to Blues, Everton, Forest, Reading multiple times, Southampton, Leeds, Luton, Derby, Sheffield Wed, and Bolton, I mean some of these teams are a similar size historically to Man City, yet they've all had points deductions in the past over FFP rule breaks, yet the so called big six don't? It's not really that different to how La Liga favours Real Madrid and Barcelona over the other 18 teams in their League when they repeatedly break rules.

What Football has got to remember, is that there are more people that will support a "smaller" club than there will be that supports a "bigger" club (even though Blues, Wigan, Swansea, and Leicester have actually won more trophies than Tottenham in recent years) but we will ignore the facts for now and I'll carry on with my point, which is if the Footballing world keeps showing such blatant favouritism towards the bigger teams, and a complete disregard for the smaller teams, then they can't be surprised if people that are fans of the smaller clubs end up losing interest in the Sport, because if their team is being treated more harshly than the big teams, then what's the point in following that particular team's progress?

It's no different to a TV Show that has a stagnant character with no character development, whilst that same TV Show gives another character all of the iconic storylines and dialogue, nobody likes such an unbalanced writing approach in a TV Show, and it shouldn't be acceptable for certain Football teams to get away with breaking the rules, whilst others can't.

who knew a manager would want input into what players were signed....absolute madness  in all seriousness, I think Chelsea will become a pariah Club for managers to go to if they dont sort themselves out and quickly

Poch, De Zerbi and the ipswich manager are the candidates to replace him

Football has changed. 3 or 4 bad games and your time is up. Most managers are given short term contracts to, so you will get a lot more "mutually agreed" partings

Crimson Dynamo 22-05-2024 05:33 PM

Poch has a history of success so he is ideal

when I say success I actually mean he has won fluck all

Cherie 22-05-2024 05:35 PM

Jesus no de Zerbi, how well did he do at Brighton ....:umm2:

at least the Ipswich manager has some experience at United but is he a big enough name for the egos, not sure he is

Crimson Dynamo 22-05-2024 05:45 PM

Why would Anceloti leave Real Madrid when their young team is just hitting the high notes plus they are getting the latest Brazilian wonderkid ( the new Romario) and Mbappe !

Premier League 2023-24 Season - General Discussion

Why on earth is Xaby Alonso staying with Levercusan !!??

What’s his thought process I wonder

All the massive opportunities he’s missed out on they’re looking toothless against Atalanta

Plus he will probably lose some of his best players to bigger teams in the summer

All I'll say to teams that operate like that, is look at where we are currently.

Eustace lost about three games on the bounce, and the owners used it as a justification to sack him, despite the fact that afterwards he had pulled off comfortable wins against Huddersfield and West Brom.

The rest is history, and definitely something that every Football Club should try to avoid.
