Recent reports that Bill Tarmey is considering hanging up his green jacket and the keys to his pigeon shed and leaving Coronation Street are wrong, say Corrie chiefs. Inside Soap reckon that the rumours are "pure speculation."

Elsewhere in Inside Soap, there's a suggestion that Dan Mason (played by Matthew Crompton) may not be leaving after all, although Jack Ellis (Harry) is still going. "Dan will definitely be around longer than Harry," the magazine quotes a Corrie mole, "But who knows whether he has a future in Weatherfield."

The Mortons are definitely leaving, and Teresa (Karen Henthorn) is going to be central to their exit storyline. "Her impact on the family will be massive, leading to a very dramatic exit for the Mortons - and it could result in a tragic death resulting from Teresa's evil scheme."
