This bit makes me laugh..

"But the usual FAI reaction - 'We've been robbed!', 'the honesty of the game!'

"There was one of the group games, I'm sure it was against Georgia, where Ireland got a penalty and it was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen which changed the whole course of the game.

"I think Robbie [Keane] scored the penalty and Ireland went on to win it.

So ireland didnt say that wasn't a penalty and they scored it and were happy with winning..

Setanta thought you said ireland fans would be disgusted if that happened for you? and that ireland would want to rematch or somthing? lol.

Alf 20-11-2009 11:24 AM

The players are not allowed to discuss with the ref, and are not allowed to say even if they think the ref is mistaken. - "olof Lundh"

Where's all this Ireland hate coming from Ben?????

Roy Keane as great as I think he is has had issues with the Ireland team since his episode with them in 2002

30stone 20-11-2009 11:28 AM

Robert Huth

Cheating always happens, hes getting stick for not telling the ref but its not often a forward for would especially in that situation.

I dont have ireland hate?
These are just reports from sky? lol

Problem is whats with ireland being on the "cheater" end of the stick and seems no one cared then?

Stu 20-11-2009 11:29 AM

Ben why are you going to such lengths to **** on something you said earlier should only really bother us Irish? Seems pretty contradictory, don't you think?

Who cares how bad the defense was. He still handled the ball. That does not change.

Lauren 20-11-2009 11:30 AM

Correction to something someone said earlier:

"Roy Keane was a legend"

Now he's just bitter.

And meticulously highlighting certain bits of the article in an obvious attempt to try and prove some point.

Amen sister. He hardly did us any fucking wonders in the 2002 world cup.

30stone 20-11-2009 11:37 AM

They are Key things you will want to read.
As no one ever wants to reade throught the full articles. so i bold parts.

And roy Keane is a legend yes for united.

Stu 20-11-2009 11:39 AM

"I think the Irish supporters probably deserve better, I think their manager and most of their players deserve better but I'm not sure the FAI deserve better.

I found this part worth highlighting myself, too, personally.

Roy Keane was indeed a United legend. Shame he let politics get in the way of wanting to play for his own people.

30stone 20-11-2009 11:40 AM

Ireland ready to "pleade" the french federation to change their minds in an interview later today, Or will hold up their hands and say we have tried our best. - Blokey on sky sports dont know his name

They treated him badly though didnt they?

and ireland will lose out on 90million+ in retail alone, from not going to the world cup.

Ireland see it as very important for them to have gone as it will help them get out of recession.

France could make 1.2billion from going.

England could lose 4billion from loss of productivity? What the hell

Aye, the FAI were moronic, still are really, but Keane should have gotten over that and played. Your talking about fulfilling the hopes, dream's and ambitions of four million plus Irish people versus some petty internal squabble.

Lauren 20-11-2009 01:07 PM

Thierry Henry has come out and said a rematch would be the 'fairest solution'.

LOL, note he said it after the decision was made by FIFA to not allow a replay!!

Stu 20-11-2009 01:08 PM

After all the stuff Wildcat has said, that's just utterly hilarious.

Lauren 20-11-2009 01:21 PM

Like I said earlier, the only way I'd want France to get further in this competition is if they stamp all over England to get there.

Greatest football supporters? Gailic football maybe...

Actually, maybe Henry thought he was playing Gailic football.
