It doesn't necessarily need more stories, just better ones.
And also instead of 2 stories boring us silly being repetitive for a month before they're forgotten and 2 other stories bore us with the same scenes for another month, we need more variation. |

What was even the point :joker: |
We need Kat for the Charlie stuff
Hayley is lowkey annoying about it, show some sympathy girl! |

The block storytelling is TOO much
Mel has disappeared Sharon has disappeared Kim/Denise have disappeared Shakil storyline has abruptly paused? Keegan and Bernie back to laughs and jokes Max and Rainie will probably vanish for another month soon and if I recall next week or the week afters focus is going to be Mas and Ian opening their restaurant together? |
The other night I literally skipped to the end credits just to see if Mel was in the episode. Saw she wasn't and then watched the episode anyway but it felt like a chore.
Luckily Rainie popped up and was julienning the carrots. |

Also a mess at Max and Rainie actually getting custody of Abi.

Considering how much hate the show was getting with SOC (deservedly so, not defending him) and how excited people were at Yorke returning the show is the pits right now.
We get a decent episode once in a while and all his introductions so far apart from Hayley are horrific. This Stuart storyline is so bad and the acting has been cringe worthy. Corrie is beating it hands down in quality in all senses. |
I wonder how much influence he actually as since he's an executive consultant rather than executive producer
|
I think I read he's not actually in the offices at Elstree.
He literally just "consults" from wherever he is. So, he just makes big decisions like convincing Tamzin Outhwaite to come back, hiring Patrick Bergin etc, greenlighting the stabbing storyline but he's not there running the show day to day. Probably explains why the quality varies so much. |
Ahhh yeah that does make sense, I guess. The last week has been a chore to watch to be honest. Not enjoying Stuart at all. The Max story is so dull too, Tanya would never ever let him have baby Abi

I bet this is Oliver Kemp's doing

Like Kieran Roberts for Corrie. |
The show is just screaming of one that is on pause. The way the stories aren’t really going anywhere reminds me of the Newman era where she was just trying to fix the mess that Kirkwood had left, which let’s be honest is nothing compared to the remains of the show that SOC has left Yorke.
|
The show is a mess at the moment because it has the feel as if two people are running the show on alternate weeks.
I think there's two writers rooms to try and fix the show's problems but it kind of adds to the mess. |
Pause. THAT'S exactly what it feels like.
Something's holding everything back from moving forward. |
Walford is crying out for this legend!

I hope it fixes itself soon, it was really apparent during Mel's missing money |
I'm so disappointed they brought Mel back as another woman in need of handouts from Phil to survive.
The show is so stuck in the past it's unreal. |
