Roy Keane has always had a chip on his shoulder concerning the FAI and this was a perfect opportunity for him to vent, but to be honest I'm appalled at him for taking a cheap shot so soon after such a huge and emotional game. I'd question his motivation over the whole thing really and he's gone way down in my estimation over this thing.

And Ben, to compare a misjudged ref decision in the Georgia match and a deliberate handball from Henry (Keane said it wasn't deliberate- what a moron) is just silly really. Keane has a seperate agenda here; he's always had it when it involved Ireland.

Wildcat! 20-11-2009 02:36 PM

Are these people still over here crying?
So I guess Roy KEane is now the Irish public enemy #2.
Its so laughable to see these people think they will get some sort of a replay. LIke they are the first team in the world to have a decision go against them. ANd you honestly think Henry wants a replay? Thats a throwaway comment to make you feel better about your faith!

SO not over it yet? funny, the amount of people who never ever post on the Football section are suddenly die hard fans!
Said it before, will say it again, no one cares. They are just gonna humour you for the next few days.
BUt by all means, keep wasting your time.

Do you not like the Irish or something? Are we not entitled to be a bit pissed off??? Any other country would feel exactly the same imo

And just because I haven't posted in here before does not make my opinion any less valid than yours

You're an imbecile and I post in here all the time. Haven't you read all the articles relating to the French people's embarrassment over this whole incident, with people like Wenger saying that there should be a replay?

And this wasn't just a decision- it was blatant cheating. Can't you see the difference with your own eyes?

And Roy Keane has always split the nation with his actions and words.

King Gizzard 20-11-2009 02:44 PM

Great to see the football thread in use

And setanta is a regular in here!

Once again, the sad insults, you are the stupid imbecile who thinks all this stupid outrage is actually gonna go anywhere. MOst people atually felt for Ireland when all this happened. But the whole feeling bad thing went out of the window with all this ridiculous over reaction , and claims that somehow, a replay should be had, like youre something special.
PLease, Arsene Wenger and anyone who said there should be a replay are all either idiots, or just saying that to get you whiners off his back.
And who said anything about you not posting in here? I am talking about a few others, who have actually never posted over here.
And yeah BTW

The funny thing about this incident, it shouldve a handball on Roy Keane at 1:12. BUt again, ITS FOOTBALL, things happen.
WHy dont we replay this game too?
DUmbasses.

Vladimir 20-11-2009 02:49 PM

I laughed so bad when Henry said 'I will be honest, it was a handball. But I’m not the ref'.

Do I not like the Irish? I actually adore the Irish people. LIving here in England, they are the nicest and most fun people I know. ANd I have loads of Irish friends in the US. HOwever, I do not like the ridiculous over reaction from this. YOu can be upset, of course, but asking for a rematch, calling for new rules etc...Please. Like I said before, this is not the fisrt time soccer injustice, has happened.

That was actually the first time I've said anything remotely insulting to you but I think it was justified considering the rubbish you've been spewing on here for the last day or so.

Deliberate handball - deliberate cheating. Do I have to go on and on about this? He cushioned the ball with the palm of his hand!

Like he was supposed to just run to the ref and say, cmon, man, dont count the goal. LOL!

In other news, you suck.

Also, it's probably not a good idea to vent about insults when you use plenty yourself.

And who said I am a die hard Ireland fan? I'm not. I don't need to be. I just felt like posting in this thread because it was something major that happened. I'm not that into football, but I watch the big events.

well, since you bring up changing the rules, didn't they already do that when they were doing the draws for the play-off's?? They were hell bent on France getting through anyway so I didn't really think they'd agree to a rematch and risk them being knocked out!

YOu can go on and on, all you like! Again watch the other video. YOu claimed, how the Irish people would never accept an injustice to their advantage. So why not go ask for this game to be replayed. It was clearly handball by Roy Keane, and yet Ireland got a penalty. Thats 3 points that you shouldnt have had. so the game against Frane shoulnt have even happened in the first place.

And BTW, I am not bothered by your insults, coming from people I dont know, you think I really care?

again exhibit A, ignore it all you want. I didnt even know about this, because obviously, it wasnt so important since the call didnt go against Ireland. BUt thank god for Roy Keane and his honesty and sense of perspective.

I think it would have been appropiate and right thing to do considering what he was after doing but instead he decided to run around cheering like a madman. What a prat. And then he laughed his cheating off in the press room, saying that it wasn't intentional and that if the ref didn't spot it, well that's it really. It was a totally intentional act and it's shameful that he decided to pass the blame for it all entirely onto the ref.

Did you ever see anyone in the history of soccer, do that ever????
Errrm, did Roy KEane go and say, ref I handled the ball, it shouldnt have been a penalty??? Its gonna keep being posted, as long as you keep banging about this.

Nobody is denying your video evidence. In fact, your only bringing yourself down. Your going to great lengths to point out Ireland's cheating to us yet when confronted about Henry apparently it's a non issue, an automatic handball response, and we should all get on with our lives.

You have issues, kid.

You honestly can't compared the two. Keane was trying to trap a ball and it hit the top part of his arm which was next to his body. All players do this when trying to control a ball from a height and occassionally it connects with their arm.

As for Henry's, he took his arm away from his body to control the ball with his HAND. They're totally different incidents and can't be treated the same. Do you know anything about football?

Naaa, its all good!!! Like I said before, I actuall felt really bad, when the thing happened. I even called some of my friends in France to make fun of them for going through that way. BUt the over reaction in the press, and the internet, really pissed me of. BUt yeah! Sorry. :)

Errrm, the point is he HANDLED THE BALL!!!! And as a result you got a ficticious penalty that never happened. Its the same thing. He tried to trap the ball, WTF, who cares how it happened. It was a handball. WHy dont the oh so honest Irish player, like you claim, go tell the referee to cancel the penalty. HE even took it himself eagerly! Give me a Fcuking break!

I am so not anti Irish. If anything, in Football, I am always anti England. YOu can ask 30stone, ANdy and all the regulars over here. But its always in good fun.
In this occasion, I feel the need to defend Henry, and reiterate the fact that its not the first time something like this has happened, and its not the last.
