Callum did lie! he didn't really care for Shaughna, he switched to Molly in a second and never gave Shaughna a second thought. Molly also had to tell Callum to go after her.

Off camera I feel like Callum would think nothing of giving a girl a slap for cooking his tea and forgetting the tomato sauce on the table so he smashes the food across the wall and gives you a clack and while you cower on the floor he spits on you
