War Of The Worlds, I really enjoyed the first half... it's a brilliant set-up... but then it just goes nowhere . Builds up and then fizzles out, no real payoff, like a bad handjob at a Uni halloween party.

Cheap Thrills (2013)

A black comedy thriller about the lengths people will go to for money.

Craig (Pat Healy), an auto mechanic who loses his job and is facing eviction from his house due to being unable to pay his rent, goes to a bar where he meets his old friend from high school, Vince (Ethan Embry). They meet a rich couple, Colin and Violet (David Koechner and Sara Paxton). They derive enjoyment from making wacky bets involving risky dares and large amounts of money. As it's Violet's birthday, Colin offers them dares in exchange for money. The dares start off light and fun but as the evening wares on and the stakes become higher, their friendship and the limits to which each will go to make quick cash are tested to the breaking point.

I was thoroughly impressed with this movie. It's exceptionally well acted with Healy, Embry and Koechner playing their respective roles brilliantly and I was on the edge of my seat the whole way.

9/10.

The Perfection - I had never heard of this film but it was a pretty good watch I thought, something totally different 8/10

Spoiler:

I like that it was a bit twisty aswell, I like a good twist especially when I'm not expecting one. Pet peeve of mine is when someone tells you there's a twist before you watch the film. The story is a bit ridiculous tbf but I didn't care at all

Darkest Hour - I wasn't really expecting to like this tbh (I was only checking it out for something a bit different to what I usually watch) but I actually did enjoy it and agree with the critics that it's technically a very well made Film. Gary Oldman and Stephen Dillane give really strong performances as Churchill and Halifax along with Ben Mendelsohn as King George VI. The acting was probably a high point throughout the Film tbh.

The Film obviously tries to portray Churchill as more loveable in the Film than I think he was supposed to be IRL, however I can handle that as audiences (myself included) does need to like the lead when watching a Film.

The only scene I'd have changed in the Film was the subway scene didn't really do anything for me.

Overall 8/10

I watched Le Mans '66 (also known as Ford vs Ferrari) today. I really liked it. Matt Damon and Christian Bale are great in it, and the racing scenes are thrilling and well shot. The soundtrack is good to. I'd give it 8 out of 10.

Maleficent 2 7/10

Just been with the kids. I actually unironically really enjoyed it :umm2:... It's SIGNIFICANTLY better than the first Frozen, and while I was skeptical about the first couple of songs, the "main" songs are brilliant. They actually have some character, compared to most Disney film songs .

I found Olaf to be a weak link again, as I did in the first film, though I think that's to be expected as he clearly exists for the amusement of kids.

Kristoff's song was a highlight also, after them not letting the poor bugger have a proper song AT ALL in the first film.

Oh for rating, 8/10 for general audience, easily 9+/10 for intended audience.

Olaf's a star in the first Film.:nono:

Admittedly I've not seen the second one.

Bohemian Rhapsody - I wasn't sure what to think of it at the start (my main concern was the Film possibly changing Freddie's sexuality) but thankfully the Film does quickly address that storyline quite well imo.

I know that chunks of the Film are probably embellished, but I enjoyed seeing the band's dynamic with each other, and I still can't believe that
Spoiler:

that Roger Taylor wrote a song about loving a Car.:joker:
it will go down as something that I'll never forget from the Movie.

9/10

Wait, wait, wait... wait...

So...

Spoiler:

Last christmas he LITERALLY gave her his heart? That's one of the most ridiculous movie title puns I've ever heard :joker:. Practically satire!
