I think officially the final for BB8 (second episode) got 5.3m. And officially for this series we should see around 4.7m.

Unofficial averages of last few series, officials *

BB8- 3.6m *3.9m
CBB7- 3.3m (could hit 3.4m when +1 is added to final ratings) *?? likely to be 3.6-3.7m.
BB9- 3.3m *3.6m
CBB6- 3.0m *3.3m
BB10- 2.2m *2.4m

When we look at that, this series of XCBB is set to surpass the officials of BB9, CBB6 and BB10. Not BB8 though.

Yep it did, CBB7 is 1.1m up on BB10s unofficial average.
Which is why CBB7 is considered a massive hit because it picked up more than 1m viewers up again.

I knew it did bad before obviously but he just reminded me of its failure regarding ratings with the previous post X

Including +1

1st show- 3.8m
2nd show- 4.3m

Didnt add much:( but 4.3m is very good.

I didn't, +1 doesn't add as much for finales, they're more appointment viewing than the highlights.

biglover 01-02-2010 11:41 AM

I thought the finale would maybe reach 5 million

Although at least it is up on last years CBB and BB by about 2 million X

Good figures, although with BB in the state its in getting 4m for the final was always going to be a success. Hopefully that provides them with a solid ground for BB11, its theirs to lose really. I think BB11 needs to be in the same style as this CBB.

That makes the series average 3.3m which is the biggest series on series increase since BB3 as its 1.1m up on BB10, and 0.3m up on CBB6.

Yep, I reckon the officials will bring it to 4.7m... which is very good!!!

And yes 1.1m is a massive increase between 2 shows in the space of a few months.

First bit of official data from BARB: CBB launch on Jan 3rd got 6.7 million including +1. (500,000 up on the overnight of 6.2m)

Other officials will be released soon.

Tom 01-02-2010 07:15 PM

Only BB4, BB5 and CBB5 beat CBB7.

3 reasons why BB4 Launch rated brilliantly:

1. It was the first episode back from BB3s final which is still to date the highest C4 rating ever (10.04m), so obviously there was massive interest.

2. Adverts of the eye in public places, on grass near palaces, beaches etc...

3. The Live Noms (first launch twist ever) kept people intersted.

And then it went so drastically down afterwards and averaged 4.6m (1.2m less than BB3) so really it was a big fail. Anouska's eviction made the show flop big time.

Same with CBB5 launch, CBB4 was the most sucessful series so people tuned in to see the CBB5 launch.

Ironically though if BB3 hadn't had happened, BB4 was nothing short of a huge success. The show always suffer though when one HM dominates it - Big Brother fans aren't interested in "The John Tickle Show", and the three weeks without him were the best of BB4 - till they went and put him back in (but unlike BB7, it was a twist worth doing then!).

BB5 got off to a fairly poor start with "The Kitten Show", but producers were brave enough to chuck her out and the show never looked back. Similarly BB7 & BB8 suffered as the Nikki/Charley show too. It is never good for the show when one HM dominates it in such a way.

Which is why CBB7 was so good, it wasnt about 1 person.
