Yea, Ozzy would have won unanimously. Did you see the ovation he received from both the final three and the jury? No one has ever gotten that type of reaction after getting voted out before.

Its crazy to me that I'm the only person that likes Ozzy on this forum. He is if not the most beloved Survivor contestant ever.

I havent seen that many survivor seasons, this being my first with Ozzy in it, second with Coach, but I liked him, I might try and watch the season he was in originally

I appreciate his amazingness at challenges but he is arrogant and expects a lot off his tribe because of that. He has never been a good strategic player and I personally like the strategist to win over the better physical competitor. Maybe because I could relate to them, I wouldn't win the physical challenges a lot but I would try my hardest to be the best strategic person there to make up for it!

Yea, try and watch Cook Islands. One of the very best Survivor seasons. Ozzy was even more dominant in that Season than he was in this one.

LemonJam 19-12-2011 11:33 AM

I was hoping that Albert would win tbh. Sophie played a good game, but an incredibly safe game at the same time.

I like strategist over psychical competitors too, but no one dominates challenges like Ozzy does. He is in a league of his own. Coach and Sophia weren't better at strategizing than Ozzy was at dominating competitions.

She was lucky that she was on the side with the numbers advantage. She wasn't anything special as a player.

You know what, I KNEW you'd want him to win!
First Sash.. then his guy? Oh James... :nono:

LemonJam 19-12-2011 12:21 PM

I didn't want Sash to win... D:

Edit.

Did you watch Cook Islands? Thats the season where Ozzy gained most of his fans from.

A couple points need clarification on my end here.

1) I'm such a huge Sophie fan because I know her personally, I agree she didn't play the most exciting game but she knew what she was doing, had a clearly defined strategy, prevented Albert from executing one of his harebrained schemes that would have wrecked her game, and won individual immunities where they counted (keeping Whitney from winning when she was the last Savaii left and, of course, slaying challenge god Ozzy). She made it to the end and convinced the majority of the jurors that she deserved the cash and the title over the other two finalists, so in my eyes, she's a deserving winner. I mean, even Ozzy voted for her after calling her a spoiled brat. That's gotta count for something in your eyes.

2) I have seen both Cook Islands and FvF and my opinion on Ozzy has never changed much. On Cook Islands I was impressed with his challenge domination, but at the same time he was a completely one-dimensional player - he IIC'ed himself into the final 3, there was no serious strategic element to his game as he left that all to Yul. Same deal in FvF, except this time around his strategic game was worse. It's pretty bad to be voted out without playing an idol in your possession. What irked me about Ozzy this season was that it didn't appear he had learned at all from his previous 2 seasons. He followed largely the same gameplan - pair up with a hot girl and use her for her vote, find the idol and replace it with a fake one - of course, Ozzy used it this time around, he just wasted it on Whitney; and dominate at challenges and gathering food and then expect to be treated royally by his tribe for it. At least Coach, as much as I dislike him, played a strategic game. Ozzy seemed to think he deserved to stay in the game just because he was good at catching fish. If it weren't for Redemption Island, Ozzy would have gone out earlier than he did even in FvF.

Again, let me repeat that I am as impressed as the next Survivor fan by how good Ozzy is at challenges and surviving. But he takes that prowess and makes waaaaaay too much of it. He is strategically braindead and the amount of fawning done over him (as evidenced by that completely ridiculous segment at the reunion with that 8-year-old's idiotic question) is pathetic and unwarranted.

I wanted Coach to win, but Ozzie would have been okay. Instead we got another boring female.

It's bull**** that Sash didn't get votes because he lied, but Chase DID get votes when he arguably lied more than Sash, but he's apparently the 'good guy' so whatever.

lol me. Obviously I hadn't heard about the whole morgage-gate thing.

I will, Im kinda in-between watching amazing race and survivor so will take me like a year to actually watch it lol

GypsyGoth 19-12-2011 08:35 PM

I'm happy enough Sophie won, the ones I liked didn't even make the jury. Not sure about bringing these survivor stars back. So in that way I'm glad Coach lost.

The next series sounds like it might be a good change.

Marc 19-12-2011 08:36 PM

Refreshing

LemonJam 19-12-2011 10:22 PM

I'm guessing they're removing Redemption Island now then? Hopefully they bring back the reward challenges <3

:joker::joker::joker::joker::joker::joker::joker: seriously Cook Islands is one of, if not the worst season of Survivor.

Ozzy didn't vote for Albert because he thought that he rode coattails and he wasn't going to vote for Coach because he back stabbed him. He did vote for Sophie, but not because he thought she was the best player.

Ozzy had the biggest target on his back in both FvF and in South Pacific. People that are great at challenges are always the first to be voted out. His strategic game this season wasn't terrible. He wanted Cockroach out since day 1, but Jim and the rest of his tribe wanted to weaken Ozzy. So everyone Ozzy wanted to stay they voted out and everyone he wanted to go stayed. Even though they were in an alliance with him! Again how is that his fault? His plan to go to RI to even up the numbers was a good move. How was he to know that Cockroach was going to flip? Jim even said that it was, because if Christine had come back into the game, she would have went to the numbers instead of choosing to pick a rock. Plus by Ozzy offering up himself, he gained a lot of respect from his tribe members. If you listened to the Survivor exit interviews, Coach's tribe was going to target Whitney, but Cockroach told them beforehand who Ozzy was going to give the idol to. Ozzy's plan to use RI to his advantage by using it to garner votes was also a very good strategic move. Did you see how much the jury loved him? If he had made it to the final 3 he would have won unanimously. Even Brandon would of voted for him and he is all about staying loyal to your tribe!

He was also right about targeting Sophia, but of course Coach didn't listen. I'm not saying that Ozzy has a great strategic mind, but he wasn't terrible this year and was certainly better than he was in his previous seasons.

Uh EVERYONE who wins Survivor wins partly due to luck. There's so much luck in Survivor it's not even funny. But Sophie had a hell of a disadvantage with returning players.
