Nope, there's still lots of glitches on the site. Not even open to the public yet either and there hasn't been any updates on the Pottermore blog in ages. To think it all started out so promisingly. :(

This thing is such a fail :joker:

It can gtf now - they should just do a World of Warcraft kind of Harry Potter Game instead, would be a far bigger earner and alot more fun.
People like to play video games online now, no one wants to read.

Well, Harry Potter is primarily a novel so it's target audience is readers.

As for being a "big earner", the point of Pottermore is it is a free to use site so that doesn't matter.

I do actually :idc:

It was never promised to be an online game like you're suggesting and the chances of it turning into one are slim. It's an online reading experience for the fans to act as a companion to the books.

Pottermore will be opening to everyone on April 2012.

According to the Pottermore Insider Blog announcement, which was just released:

We know that the extended wait for those wishing to be part of Pottermore has been frustrating, and we’d like to thank you all for your patience so far.
Many of you are interested to know why we extended the original opening date beyond October of last year.

We always knew Pottermore would be incredibly popular, which is why we made the decision to only open to one million Beta users to begin with. We wanted to make sure that we had a really good understanding of how people want to use the site and which bits we’d need to modify before giving more people access.

We gathered some incredibly useful feedback from our Beta users, and it became clear that our original platform wouldn’t be suitable when millions more users came on to the site. So we made a big decision: to move Pottermore to an entirely different platform set up. This ‘invisible’ change has involved a lot of work behind the scenes but it will enable our users to get the best from Pottermore as it grows and develops.

There have definitely been some challenges and the whole Pottermore team has been working really hard to incorporate all the Beta activity and feedback. This means that over the coming weeks and months we’ll be adding exclusive content and many more exciting features (such as sounds) to Pottermore for you to explore, share and discover.

So get ready to join the Pottermore journey – the wait is nearly over.
I'll believe it when I see it, there have been so many delays now. :suspect:

Still I'm glad they're going to add music and I hope the Chamber of Secrets book will be added.

I hope the changes are good :suspect:

CEO of Pottermore Charlie Redmayne has been on a speaking tour about the site lately. We’ve learned that Pottermore has a promising future, and today he’s added a bit more to get us excited.

In an article noting that the site now has three million users, The Guardian spoke to Redmayne about the community issues:

Redmayne also acknowledged issues with Pottermore’s community and promised change – although everything will continue to be moderated. “The community elements are too restrictive at the moment and we will be easing them up. Within a community, you need to be able to communicate,” he said. “In the next few weeks we will enable people to communicate more, but to do so in a completely safe environment.”

He also updated everyone on Chamber of Secrets and promised that it will be better than Sorcerer’s Stone. He even backtracked a little bit on his previous comments about the book arriving in the “next few weeks:”

The site will also become more interactive, he promised, revealing that work is currently underway on launching the second book in the series, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. “It won’t be the next couple of weeks but we’re working to get it live as soon as possible,” he said. “What is going to become a given is that there will be a lot more interaction added. When book two goes online – and we’re working on that at the moment – it will be a real step up from the stuff in book one. There’ll be more from Jo, and more interactivity. And we will grow this over the seven books – you will see it becoming a broader and broader and richer and richer experience,” he said.
New updates on Pottermore. Looking forward to seeing Chamber of Secrets on there, mainly for the new content from Jo although the site itself has gotten better since it opened to the public. I like that there's now music and sounds on the site and that it's going to become more interactive.
