Ep 5 spoilers

Spoiler:

Damn I hate Carrie so much, all these scenes with her and Aayan are incredibly cringey and even though she's just using him it is looking worryingly like some weird genuine romance might develop. Better not though.

Saul was incredibly dumb that ep as well, firstly not to think anything of the fact that the ISI guy just happened to be at the airport the exact same time and then with the worst efforts at tailing somebody ever, staring at the bloke the whole time and constantly moving everywhere he went

Hope to see a lot more of Quinn calling Carrie out on what a terrible job she's doing. You're the chief of an entire station and one of the most important ones at that, switch on your damn phone

Mixed thoughts on Ep5

Spoiler:

I don't buy that a former chief of the CIA would be so amateur when it came to the airport scenes, and Carrie was really terrible throughout. I liked how flawed they were making her in the episodes when she was back in the US but these scenes with Aayan aren't half annoying.

Hopefully we get more scenes with Quinn and Farrah, the best two things about the show currently.

Spoiler:

I am glad Quinn called her out on going AWOL and "fucking a child". It is quite disgusting how she is dealing with this Aayan situation.. and like Matt says, it is worrying that it might be turning into something.

I don't know what to make of Saul. It all seemed very amateur considering his experience, but I could see how he might think to go into the bathroom after those two shifty guys came out. I just fail to see how he didn't see through it..

Wow... Loved this week's episode.

ISI/The Taliban > the CIA tbh

Spoiler:

I'd imagine the next step is finding out who got to the photos of Aayan (seemed like Carrie realized that's what it was in the end when she saw the bags then trashed her office) and then going through that useless bastard of a husband to the ISI woman, and then getting some kind of information from her, whether that's through catching her or just surveillaning her, and then get to Saul. Assuming he lives of course... But surely he has got to.

omg... please tell me someone has watched this week's epi...

Niamh. 10-11-2014 11:54 AM

I'm watching it at UK pace so I'm a weak behind, not feeling this season at all

lily. 10-11-2014 11:57 AM

Ok, then I can't discuss this epi with you... suffice to say it's a good 'un.

I am enjoying the season so far. :)

MTVN 10-11-2014 12:00 PM

Not seen it yet but expecting a belter when I watch it later now

You should find next week's ep a lot better Niamh, I didn't realise till last night that UK pace was actually two weeks behind after I spent the evening bigging up last nights UK ep to my parents as the best one in ages and then it turned out it was the one before that which was actually imo the worst one in ages

Cheers for the link.

Locke. 10-11-2014 08:41 PM

Just watched it.

Spoiler:

The Saul and Haqqani scenes were brilliant, hopefully many more of those to come. The Carrie drug plot just seemed like a cheap ploy for them to get Brody back for an episode though, although it was pretty good seeing him on the show again.

Locke. 10-11-2014 09:02 PM

Has also been renewed for a fifth season - http://www.seat42f.com/showtime-rene...he-affair.html

Spoiler:

It was such a fked up scene... I didn't know what to think for a minute

MTVN 10-11-2014 10:02 PM

Spoiler:

Thank god that was just a hallucination, thought it would be but was getting a bit worried the longer it went on. Quite interested to see how this guy keeping Carrie is gonna turn out

Nice to have old Lockhart back as well

Spoiler:

Yeah, Lockhart is a bastard, but he is an interesting character. This guy who has Carrie is a creepy one though... not sure what his game is at all..

MTVN 17-11-2014 11:00 PM

Spoiler:

Another really good episode this week, Lockhart on great form again

Some of it seemed a bit farfetched, like Saul's escape was way too easy just having to get past one guy and suddenly he can saunter off no problem. And the drone thing, I don't get how the Taliban could have so quickly known where the drone was, suppose its either visible from the ground which would make it a very stupid move by the CIA or they're getting a silly amount of help from the Pakistan military for unclear reasons

lily. 18-11-2014 08:19 PM

Spoiler:

I read into it that they had help from the Pakistan military. Could be wrong though.

As for Saul.. maybe they didn't see him as a huge threat, cos he is old and doesn't appear strong. Also, since they have him out in the middle of nowhere, they maybe didn't see the need for additional guards..

I liked the epi though, and I'm glad they didn't let Carrie suffer too long with the messed up meds..

Also, did anyone notice that they effed-up during the scene where they were all in the meeting watching the video of Saul. It switched from being Saul's face to being a shot from further back where you could see their camera... I don't think it was deliberate.
