Indeed, those people should concentrate on tweeting messages of support for April's family.

This.

God only knows what they are going through right now. Thoughts are with them.

Iwan Jenkins of the Crown Prosecution Service said: "Having carried out a detailed review of the evidence gathered so far by Dyfed Powys police I have come to the conclusion there is sufficient evidence to charge Mark Bridger with murder and it is in the public interest to do so."

so from this we can assume he did not confess, something about all this does not feel right I do hope they have the right person and that April will be found.

Will be interesting to find outwhat this 'sufficient evidence' is that is enough to charge him with murder and abduction.

Regardless: he has been charged, not found guilty at this point and the place (internet wise) is awash with all sorts of punishments. So much for a fair trial: too many people on webland jumping find the man guilty - that's still to be proven.

Not that that helps the poor girl's family and loved ones - hellish situation for them.

I don't like the sound of this. It looks like the found some new evidence! :o:bawling:

He's obviously just a nut job, what other possible motive could someone have for killing a 5 year old

For them to have charged him with the murder of the girl (but having not yet found a body) - it's going to have to be very substantial evidence. Have no idea how long forensic testing takes, was under the impression that it's not quite as fast as 'we' think it is, I dread to think what this evidence is (thinking about hard concrete evidence like vid clips or something similar)? God forbid.

thesheriff443 07-10-2012 09:22 AM

it does not take a lot for someone to be charged with murder, they can go all the way to trial and still get proved not guilty.
if you look at the case of gill dando, barry george was convicted of her murder with the only forensic evidence being a spec of gun shot residue in a coat pocket.

Im still having trouble getting my head around him allegedly attending the same parents evening as Aprils parents and then driving by and abducting her in front of another child seeminly on a whim as under normal circumstances she would not have been outside as she was given extra time to play out due to her glowing report...or so it has been reported in the press.

I feel so sad about this case for the added fact that little girl had enough to contend with with her Cerebal Palsy, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, and being on tablets daily, but getting on with her little life only for it to be snatched away so cruely. It makes this case extra upsetting as she already suffered pain on a daily basis. Poor little sweetheart :(

Kazanne 07-10-2012 12:21 PM

My brother is part of the Shropshire team helping in this case, they are still searching in earnest and who knows a miracle might happen, the worst senario is for her never to be found.I feel for her family,no one can ease that pain.

I agree too but I think it is human nature for society to want someone to want someone, anyone at times, to blame in crimes such as this and a suspect in custody is an outlet for that blame....

I too hope that police have substantial evidence and haven't put Aprils life on the line and ruined another family if they have not got the evidence for a conviction...

I just hope that there is some closure to this case for aprils family. It's just so very very sad.

This story seems to have slipped out of the news recently, yet there are still questions unanswered , why have they not found the girls body yet ? , as they have charged the man with murder they must surely have found some major evidence which links him with the abduction, or did he admit it and then deny again. Did he have an accomplice , but where is her body ?? Is she still alive somewhere trafficked to the feed the desires of some Paedophile ring. But given her medical condition this is probably unlikely.

As I say many questions still unanswered regarding this case.

Kizzy 21-10-2012 09:12 AM

I don't know how they cope...

Ammi 21-10-2012 09:24 AM

...yes, as if it isn't heartbreaking enough..I can't imagine what not finding her body must be like for them...just unimaginable pain..

Meanwhile the police search continued. But for the first time officers admitted that they had to prepare for the possibility that April's body would not be found. The search for the girl continued with fresh police officers from across the UK arriving. Police were moving their search headquarters from Machynlleth leisure centre to a community hall, partly to allow the town to try to start the long process of returning to normal.

Superintendent Ian John, said: "I want to reassure people we are continuing the search and we will follow this through." He said one of the key elements remained to keep searching the River Dyfi as tide and current meant it was constantly changing.

He said no time limit had been set on the search but it was under "constant review". Asked if there was a time when it would have to be called off he said: "That is something we have to prepare for."

I was just thinking how I had heard nothing about this for a week. How odd.

Jarrod 21-10-2012 10:42 AM

Still a huge deal here in Gwynedd and Powys. (Gwynedd is my County, Powys where Machynlleth is). Pink ribbons still everywhere :(

Kazanne 21-10-2012 10:55 AM

They ARE still looking for her, helicopters out looking for a grave.

Kizzy 21-10-2012 10:56 AM

Of course it is, it is here too. Wales has had a terrible run of crimes recently, when these things happen in your community it doesn't seem real you just feel stunned.

They dont really, they just take each day as it comes and maybe are clinging on to that hope she is still alive or will be found:bawling:

thesheriff443 21-10-2012 11:03 AM

its sad for me to say,but they are still searching in an effort to get vital evidence.
