I think it's because there is such a strong younger audience who use the internet more. For example, BB was buzzing more on Twitter than The Apprentice despite TA getting over 6m. I think BB fans are the types who spend all their day on forums/social networking. With others shows, the demo is more varied. It's annoying that it can't hit at least 1.8m! But maybe it could on Friday?

Just from reading online daily.

On hot topics or mosts read articles or hot today BB is allways in the top 2 mostly number 1.

Today is different with the death of that Sopranos dude on most sites dominating.

I aint going to trawl through everyone but today for instance:

Attachment 2493

Even last week Channel 5 was the 2nd most talked about broadcaster on Twitter.

JohnnyBB 20-06-2013 12:06 PM

No your right i agree its a baffling thing it gets more column inches than any show yet its festering to death on C5 i think its reputation must put people off some of the fans certainly dont help it. :(

Thats just hammering another nail into its coffin.

I wouldn't recommend e-mailing Ben over this. With every issue he solves that has no effect (and I'm not convinced moving to 9 will necessarily solve things all that much) on the ratings (of both the highlight shows and live feed), the more likely he is to just drop the summer series altogether after next year.

HD 20-06-2013 12:33 PM

I prefer the 10pm slot

daniel-lewis-1985 20-06-2013 12:35 PM

Anyone know what live feed got yesterday?

Why?? Emailing Ben Frow is not the answer to every problem. Like Sid said, i'd be shocked if moving to 9pm made much of a noticeable difference. The only thing left to do now is to sit back and hope the ratings improve on their own.

Lets just wait till the officials come in on Monday then we will know how popular the show really is.

I think its just more important for the overnights though seeing as advertisers want more people to see the ads they pay to put on Channel 5.

Officials are great for fans but from a money making point of view overnights count.

Yup, with reality shows the overnights are what matters most. Officials are important to broadcasters where a show is repeatable or able to be released on DVD but they are of little value to them with reality shows

Overnight wise this show is a flop.

I love the fact people hate BB and that's why I want it to do so well lol.

We need something big to happen to draw attention to the show.

This series particularly, proving it's not quality that determines ratings.

Tonight's show should be good, are they running teaser ads for the highlights this year?

Don't think so.

Remember they were doing it prime time in January?

If they made an advert with a montage of the arguments so far and played it during prime time on another channel I guarantee you ratings would get a massive boost.

That's what they should do, it's what they should have done in January, rather than air that dodgy eye ad (luckily CBB retained enough of it's big launch audience to not need it).

Ite, what's yesterday. Defo increase imo.

*mazedsalv** 21-06-2013 11:22 AM

They have been delayed for last night. Should come out later.

Meanwhile, the rating for yesterday was only given as excl +1, with +1 included, Wednesday night got 1.304m. Apparently the last 10 mins dragged the average down fro 1.4m to 1.3m after Dexter was saved, so people may have missed the Live fireworks.

*mazedsalv** 21-06-2013 11:57 AM

Last night got 1.4m rounded up including +1 (7.8%) 50k up on the night before, hope it can climb quite a bit tonight.

Meanwhile the promotion for LF is helping:

7pm hour- 96k (0.5%)
8pm hour- 120k (0.6%)

Peak audience of 143k (0.7%).

Jemal 21-06-2013 12:06 PM

Hmm not bad.

Yeah ratings are bit overrated imo.
