The format to this season is actually really good.

It's a slow one like season 3 only where season 3 is dull, season 5 is brilliant. :amazed:

Mixing up some of the character interactions is a huge plus and also following the whole thing over just a few days whilst the prison is in riot is a genius move IMO.

Probably my favourite season of the show ever, don't think I've ever finished a season so quick took me like two days

The finale is also the best one they've had, very happy with this season they just keep topping themselves

I thought it was a really good season! I feel like all the inmates, even the less relevant ones got plenty of screen time.

I liked how we got to know more characters and it's given me some new faves
The cliff hanger has me shook, idk if I like how Netflix has a current obsession with cliffhangers

I thought this season was great. OitNB can do no wrong for me, tbh.

I wasn't sure how to take the riot-setting. I thought it was going to wear thin, but I quite enjoyed it-aspects of it did grate, such as the negotiations that went nowhere, the fact that mentally and sick inmates weren't getting medicated or treated, etc.

I also liked the interactions between inmates you wouldn't expect, which is why I liked the ending despite the fact it left on a cliff-hanger.

Danielle Brooks is without a doubt the best actress on the show.

I actually don't mind Piper. She was a lot better at the beginning (and this season), but she's never really annoyed me as a character...well, apart from when she initiated the 'white lives matter' ****.

I would be lying if I said that I wasn't amused by her 'I'm flogging dirty knickers for a **** ton of money so I'm a bad-ass' persona during S3, but it went too far in S4.

Alex: I feel like I preferred Alex at the beginning of the show. She's a bit too much of a mardy-arse for me now. I still appreciate her as a character though, and she has a funny moments.

Yeah, she's a grumpy cow the last couple of seasons, she's lost that spark.

What the **** was with Sophia's 'I'm just gonna hang around this hospital and pretend I'm a nurse before handing myself in' storyline? :umm2:

idk if the Laverne is giving up on the show, or if producers are just noticing that she's a pretty **** actress.

But, yeah, all of the raving she gets tends to be because of the nature of the plot she's portrayed with being transgender and all. All very important for representation etc but she's not all that good an actor in the grand scheme of things.

I didn't really notice how bad she is before this season. I liked her at the beginning, and I like the actress for the reason you mentioned, but she seems pretty useless now. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, by the producers.
