Top Gear won't work very well with other presenters so I think the BBC should just leave the show off-air for a year or so, and then re-employ the current three presenters and continue it from there. That way they will have been seen to have done something.

This will all be forgotten about very quickly. Remember the whole Russell Brand - Jonathan Ross prank calls affair from a while back. Jonathan Ross continued with his shows after a short while, and Russell Brand has presented programmes for the BBC since - and I'm sure they would have him back too.

Is the report itself publicly available, or is that a statement about the conclusion of their findings for the public?

Keep baiting darling. :smug:

tbf though the Jonathon Ross/Russell Brand thing was completely different, it was a prank call taken too far not an actual verbal and physical assault on a member of staff

Think I'd rather be on the end of a punch after tempers fray late at night among a few people than be publicly humiliated on national radio by being told about who your grand daughter's been sleeping with. It should be easier to resolve the former in the morning with minimum fuss while Sachs has spoken about how that prank call still affects him and caused a rift in his family

Meh, she's in a band called the satanic sluts, he hardly thought she was a virgin before then tbf  Also, I have to say that it was out of order but the editor passed that call to be aired as well so it shouldn't all fall on those two

The BBC confirmed they will fulfil the gigs (previous live tour pictured) which have
already sold 200,000 tickets - but said they will be
stripped of all BBC branding and will be billed as Clarkson, Hammond and May Live

not for Top Gear

Tickets for theses events were sold
so they had to do them

Jamesy 01-04-2015 11:40 AM

Win-win for everyone with that. The fans that paid tickets still get the show they have paid and waited for, the trio get paid for the live tour and the BBC still gets in on the profits.

Two days before assaulting a BBC producer, Jeremy Clarkson was told by a doctor that he might have cancer.

Speaking for the first time in detail about the incident that resulted in his sacking from the Top Gear show, Mr Clarkson said being given the warning was one of the most stressful experiences of his life.

In an attempt to explain his state of mind at the time of the attack, he said: ‘Two days before the “fracas”, I had been told, sternly, by my doctor that the lump on my tongue was probably cancer and that I must get it checked out immediately.

But I couldn’t do that. We were in the middle of a Top Gear series. And Top Gear always came first.’

Clarkson said he had now been given the all-clear, but added: ‘That was the most stressful day I have ever had in 27 years at the BBC.

‘It was beyond-belief stressful, everything was gong wrong, and then you know... there you go. But everyone has stressful days, and they manage to cope better than I had.’

"he might have cancer."

Lucky he does not ,at this time.

But The Attack on staff
and calling him a Irish C.
meant he had to go.

Ammi 19-04-2015 07:09 AM

..of course Arista..I don't think really there was any other option, you can't do something like that and it not have serious consequences...but I don't also think that he deserves all of the public 'hate' that he's getting either..we're all different/handle stress differently and for the way in which he handles his, he's already paid a very high price and I just think, let it go...

I cannot stand the man, he is as I keep saying the one and only reason I won't watch Top Gear.

However if this is true and I see it is the Mail.
Then while it can never excuse the physical assault of another person, the word cancer still generates massive fear in people when told they may have it.

So I can accept, he was more possibly under stress because of that fact,I am surprised the report says, he was told it was probably cancer, usually you are told tests are being done to rule it out rather than alarm unnecessarily.
Not a nice place to be however if you really think you could have it,I agree.

Kizzy 19-04-2015 02:03 PM

He is one sicko, trying to curry favour by suggesting he was afraid he had cancer?!
Didn't stop him swilling beer and chomping on steaks did it? ....pffft, The lengths this cretin will go to to attempt to justify his pomposity.
