I disliked Mel before any of her flirting. She was a snobby, precious know it all who thought she was better than everyone else.

The fuss she created when she overheard Darren nominating her said it all.

In an interview she said that she had spent her whole life with people disliking her and she wasn't sure why. She was just an unlikeable kind of person.

Interesting thing is that none of these evictees or non-winners have ever claimed racism have they? So why are people claiming it on their behalf?

Macie Lightfoot 25-07-2015 10:18 PM

Because obviously Melanie doesn't realize while being in the house that the public is hoping for Claire to cheat on her boyfriend and get with Craig?

It would depend on the evictees they never cast any whites so it's difficult to say really

Ever been to South Africa? The last census in the UK whites made up 81 per cent of the population put that in the context of BB the ratio of blacks/Asians cast seems pretty fair

alol I still can't get over this implication by some people that the UK *BELONGS* to white people

Nobody has claimed anything of the sort.

If you have a country that is about 88% white and you have a tv gameshow where only 1 or 2 people per year are non-white then why would you expect lots of non-white winners?

No one is talking about winners (except for yourself) more the fact that when ever a minority is put up for eviction they usually go first just as my OP outlines

Perhaps it is because, as mentioned earlier, BB producers tend to cast particular types of minorities.

Exactly, I mean if Adjoa was an average looking white girl who was talking about pussy, and then you had pretty girl Sarah, and weird, attention seeking, argumentative during that week Eileen, I bet that Adjoa would've got the least votes to be evicted, especially considering she could be funny.

So, a black guy is evicted the first time he's put up (but 7 weeks in) and it must be racially motivated.

Another black guy wins after not facing a vote for 11 weeks and it must be that the racists had time to see beyond his skin colour.

So, the fact that Brian was liked and one of the favourites from the moment he entered and Victor was an argumentative, nasty twat had nothing to do with it?

Ok.

Marsh. 27-07-2015 01:59 AM

I suppose Aisleyne was racist for evicting the only black person from the HND.

Nobody's said it "belongs" to anyone, but the facts are that black people are still a minority in this country so expecting their statistics to tally up with white people in a show which casts a very small selection of people per year is ridiculous.

Let's deal in facts and not make up things that we don't know how they'd have been.

But looking at those 3 housemates, Eileen and Sarah (whether you liked them or not) showed personality and offered something beyond a catchphrase.

Literally the only thing I remember of her is that she liked pussy. Immature woman who thought sex talk made her interesting is dime a dozen in BB.

If screen time was the issue with that then the ever-crappy editing is to blame and not the supposed racist viewers.

But the statistics should have more of an even spread not just a sea of black people going week 1, 2 and 3

What did Eileen do that first week?

Actually had conversations with housemates that didn't constantly revolve around pussy.

But it doesn't.

As someone else said, when it comes to the casting of black housemates, particularly female, they tend to opt for one type. That's limited casting, not a racist audience. Argumentative and sassy is not going to win you Big Brother (unless MuthaP gives you a finale pass).

What about the non aggressive minorities? Hira, Sam, Adjoa, Melanie, Alison, Noirin, Jo, Rachel, Tashie?

Bores. I could make a similar list of white bores.

The only ones who don't fall into that category are Melanie and Noirin. Even then Noirin was EXTREMELY unlikeable with her treatment of the rest of the house.

But even those that aren't stereotypically aggressive don't get anywhere near he final

That's not evidence of racism or their skin colour in anyway effecting the voters. They're far outnumbered by white housemates so the statistics are against them from the off.

Omg, I can't believe she was never challenged for that racist language.

Really? At least Adjoa was a bit deluded and couldn't believe why the public thought that she was boring.

And you know how the public works Marsh, they vote on who's threatening to them, or on who's behaviour has been the worst that week, which neither was won by Adjoa unless you're some sort of prude.
