Casting a Chantelle for CBB22?
Or maybe BB19 actually starts as a celebrity series, and halfway through (that is, July) the late entrants are civilians?

You must be 18 years of age by July 31 2018
I'd imagine they're planning on keeping applications open until the end of the series, hence you have to be 18 by that date because the series will be ending or will have ended by that date? And so if you're 17 and they pick you, they can still add you into the series once you're 18 providing you turn 18 before that cut off date.

Greg! 20-01-2018 07:35 PM

Bye if they copy love island and have about 20 late entries in one series

Jodie. 20-01-2018 07:35 PM

Ooo miss smartypants!

Bye you've just jinxed it. I bet they do this now

Cal. 20-01-2018 07:38 PM

Yeah they're going to have a revolving door of housemates I'd imagine. But their plans can change. BB18 was meant to have all pairs and then abolished that to cash in on the general election. This is just a term and condition since I doubt they'd be interested in 17/18/19 year old applicants. The only ones I can think of that have been in seemed a lot older than they were (Kemal, Lesley, Becky and Ashleigh) or their age and maturity was part of their 'appeal' as a housemate (Glyn).

A convoluted mess

I wouldn't put this past them.

Cal. 20-01-2018 07:40 PM

Oh and Nicole Cammack. Can't believe she was a year older than me at the time she was the most hated BB housemate ever.

Jason. 20-01-2018 07:41 PM

All the young housemates on C4 seemed/looked older than they were.

Greg! 20-01-2018 07:46 PM

I'm was SHOOK recently when I found out Ashleigh was only 18 on BB15

y.winter 20-01-2018 07:46 PM

BB19 - 5 weeks, 25 housemates, 13 backdoor evictions
A normal highlight show:

Oaker 20-01-2018 07:48 PM

If they're going to keep BB being like 50 days long they really should just have midweek evictions like CBB so they don't have to evict half the cast through backdoor evictions :bored: but Emma probably can't be bothered to show up twice a week tbh

supertv247 20-01-2018 07:48 PM

Am I the only person who’s realised that Big Brother turns 18 this year? Perhaps they want to tie this in with housemates turning 18 this year too.... on July 14th.... just a thought

They wouldn't want to spend their budget on double the live shows. Live shows are expensive, backdoor evictions cost them nothing.
Also, I believe the number of live shows is part of the contract, so spending more live shows on BB means less live shows for CBB - and they wouldn't go there...

They might do that... BB19: Coming of Age
Tackling the young generation like they do now with gender issues?

I'd actually love this new direction of a serious/experimental/mature BB, rather than the usual carnage.

Gstar 20-01-2018 07:57 PM

^ I prefer carnage

supertv247 20-01-2018 07:57 PM

I have heard it through the grapevine that they’re planning on carrying this high brow show through to BB19. If you’ve noticed too, they’re pushing auditions way more than usual. I don’t think we should write off civilian BB yet. BB16 flopped, then CBB started flopping, and then they managed to get a hit with BB17 - so it’s still manageable... the main reason BB18 suffered was the original cast of reality TV wannabes that turned older fans off, after this CBB they could be convinced that it’s going back in the right direction with normal people... could still be carnage tbf!

SORRY but I’d love this - it would make for a longer series instead of the 50~ days we get now, plus it would be good for the ratings I think if it starts off as CBB

Jodie. 20-01-2018 07:59 PM

WHATS the grapevine is it like inside info I want some pleaseee

though expect for bottom-of-the-barrel z-listers as the celebs. Imagine the paychecks for a 60 days series.

supertv247 20-01-2018 08:03 PM

Nothing like merging CBB and BBUK will be happening, trust me
