Looks like a lot of the people who were new watchers who saw the Roxy interview stuck around which is only good. Even better that there's no controversy at the moment and people are still sticking with it.

Makes me think the people who decided to see it are liking the strength of the fornat this year.?

Certainly seems that way. It’s fortunate that the incident was followed by a round of normal nominations and an eviction to show off the old school format and that the house hasn’t exactly been dull since the end. Presumably people now want to see Ryan win.

I think you're right. I follow a few TV critics on twitter who've been done with bb for a few years, they obviously watched over the weekend because of the drama but have continued since and actually commented on how the tasks felt old school and the show wasn't what they expected from Channel 5!

Hopefully this sees through to bbuk and people think about giving it a shot having seen the new direction they're going in.

I would feel optimistic about the civilian series doing well if the scheduling wasn’t so bloody stupid. They’ve made it so only the hardcores will be watching regularly.

You keep saying this, but bbuk has always aired at 10pm.. Fridays might suffer now yeah, but no Saturday shows will make up for that dragging down the series rating.

Back on early C4, highlights sometimes aired at 11pm weeknights..

Urgh maybe. I dunno. I’m quite prepared to hold my hands up and be wrong.

It’d still be cool if they did it at 9pm tho riding off of a ratings spike to really esge this show onto another channel possibly because you can tell Ben frow wants any excuse to get rid of it (**** knows why it’s the only known show on their channel and it could be relevant again with some love and care)

supertv247 06-09-2018 11:58 AM

Frow wants it off his schedule, but he doesn't want it on another Channel cause he KNOWS it'll out rate whatever he has. He wants it completely dead. That's why there's been nothing said about the contract because someone else would swoop in

Greg! 06-09-2018 12:23 PM

Endemol need to grow some tits and just release a statement saying they have left discussions for contract renewal on C5 but are open to offers from other channels

They will have done this behind closed doors, hence why they're trying so hard to make these series' successful to appeal to other broadcasters etc

This back to normal BB format is paying dividends

Jake. 07-09-2018 09:35 AM

Rob has a point though because it’s airing at a different time of year

The show not finishing until 11:30 on a Sunday is a mess!

It just means catch up viewers will be good, fat?

Greg! 07-09-2018 11:46 AM

C4 is literally made of money so it would make sense for them to buy the rights and show CBB on C4 and BB on E4, but they fookin won't!

No other channel will have it so the show is dead the ratings are terrible

These are the best ratings, particularly for a summer CBB, in years. This has just proved the show isn't dead and still has potential.

Isn't CH4 public owned? They don't have that much money

They paid like millions for Bake Off so I don’t think they’re that poor.
