The first ballot is going to be interesting.
Have you a choice you'd like arista?
Or not sure yet.

What a sorry lot, truly some of the worst examples of British politics

on the Sunday 7PM debate ITV1HD Live

Denver 12-07-2022 05:23 PM

I think Rishi is in trouble of not making it, apart from Lis truss I don't see many of the other candidates backing him when they are going for people wanting taxes cut and he was the one who raised them

Crimson Dynamo 12-07-2022 05:24 PM

Im ready for the debate

So far neither have I bots.
Although I've only been around since 1992.

Nor really any UK wide Party leaders in fact.

Although reading back, had he become PM, I think I'd have liked John Smith.

Actually yes.
I did like Charles Kennedy too.

Maybe I should have said, I haven't liked any Con or Labour leader.
I was only 2 when John Smith died and really he was the one who got Labour to a winning position.
Which Blair ended up getting the credit for.

Heart Attack

[On the evening of 11 May 1994,
with around 500 people present,
Smith made a speech at a fundraising dinner
at Park Lane Hotel, London, saying
"The opportunity to serve
our country—that is all we ask".
At 8:05 a.m. the following morning,
whilst in his Barbican flat,
Smith suffered a fatal heart attack.]

[First heart attack
Smith suffered a heart attack
on 9 October 1988, and was forced to
spend three months away from
Westminster to recover.
On that occasion, he had complained of chest pains
the night before and had to be persuaded
to cancel a flight to London
so he could go to hospital for a check-up.
He was examined at the
Edinburgh Royal Infirmary by an ECG.
The doctor who examined him said,
"Whatever it is, we don't think it is your heart".
Then, Smith suddenly collapsed and was briefly
unconscious before coming around.
He spent three days in intensive care before
leaving hospital on 20 October 1988 and
made a full recovery.]
