Smh

Locke. 14-06-2014 12:06 PM

Looks like it will be cancelled mid-series

Jarrod 14-06-2014 12:07 PM

Share was 3.8% and doesn't include Channel 5+1.

Samm 14-06-2014 12:08 PM

Ouch, I'm hoping the official is higher when it comes out

Kai Anders 14-06-2014 12:12 PM

Do official ratings, or even regular ratings include channel 5+24 too? I'm aware they take into account +1 and HD, plus I imagine that demand does good too

Yeah all the things you said and I think repeats of it in the morning

LukeB 14-06-2014 12:14 PM

ouch! first Big Brother live eviction was seen by 884k (3.8%) at 9pm
doesn't say about the 2nd how. world cup is effecting big brother

JohnnyBB 14-06-2014 12:14 PM

Good i hope that's true about stand by your man it deservs such low raitings 40 mins of live feed would have retained there veiwers

no, it clashed with the football and coronation street all of last nights ratings where terrible because of it, EastEnders gets about 8 Million but went down to 3 Million last night

*mazedsalv** 14-06-2014 12:18 PM

Poor! Stand by your Man flopped with around under 600k too. Everything flopped, Eastenders got 3.97m.

Maybe +1 will save it a tiny bit? But no it will NOT be cancelled mid series, it did head and shoulders better than all other shows on Ch5.

Kai Anders 14-06-2014 12:18 PM

So there's some hope then! As long as they're at 1.5 for officials I think that's fair. I mean, the only reason I believe last series did so good was because it had no sporting competition, unlike the previous two years. I'm sure C5 understand too, and would renew it if this was the case.

BB12 - 1.6
BB13 - 1.6
BB14 - 1.9
BB15 - ?? (I predict 1.5)

don't forget there is always on demand, i think people who properly watched coronation street and football will watch it on demand. or +1

JohnnyBB 14-06-2014 12:20 PM

Its such a shame cause if the average this yearvis 1.5m then if there was no world cup the shows avrg would have been 2.0m

Locke. 14-06-2014 12:21 PM

Time to give up on it and look forward to the much superior celebrity version

*mazedsalv** 14-06-2014 12:23 PM

Officials will be huge for last night IMO. I remember Caroline's eviction going from 650k to 1.02m.

I agree, this series will be saved because of the Officials

I just want them to get the contract for Big Brother to stop all this "Big Brother is getting axed stuff" :bored: it's annoying

daniel-lewis-1985 14-06-2014 12:32 PM

That's just for the highlights.

What did the interview get?

I cant believe a BB eviction night got beat by a repeat of Benidorm which got 1.79 :o its embaressing

Other channels faired well against the football really its just Channel 5 that really got hit bad.

mrmattybeck1 14-06-2014 12:33 PM

maybe rest civilian bbuk for a few years and just carry on with cbb

Like I said the axing talk, it's only doing badly because of the World cup

Not sure what that got. Also, that is without +1, none of the DS figures are giving +1 weirdly enough, so it could have been a strong +1 rating?

Samm 14-06-2014 12:37 PM

The good thing is it will clash with the Football next Friday and then that will be the last clash since there isn't no more games on Friday's after that

I think the damage will be done by then BB isn't the type of show you start watching 3 weeks in.

Could be wrong.

There was a lot of people watching tv at 10:30 hopefully yes people waited to watch on +1.

Annoyed they haven't put the actual eviction figure up.

Can you try and find out, put your detective hat on Salv lol.

JohnnyBB 14-06-2014 12:43 PM

Maybe changeing the name the from big brother: power trip to just New:Big Brother could help?

Jarrod 14-06-2014 12:48 PM

Well, on Twitter - Big Brother came first and third in the most talked about online.

That's what I never get is why it's so talked about on the internet but has bad ratings on some nights and the show has lots of fan sites more than any other TV show, imo that's what keeps the show going

I agree, they should change the name because people probably don't know what BB Power Trip is and won't tune in.

Jarrod 14-06-2014 12:53 PM

Really, what we've got to think about is that Channel 5 know Big Brother works OUTSIDE of the UK too. The online community for Big Brother is one of the biggest in the country, and perhaps the world. The show has international viewers on a large scale and they know that.

Maybe the overnight ratings aren't good, but the officials will bump the show up. The fact the show also has a strong online following in the UK and outside the UK is also keeping the show going.

Kai Anders 14-06-2014 12:54 PM

Don't get me wrong, I like the Power Trip theme, but does anybody else think it's kind of a terrible name? I liked Secrets and Lies, it felt more interesting and was open to different interpretations. Something like Power and ... would have been more marketable and approachable to an audience in my opinion. The word 'trip' just sounds cheap and tacky and defines what was going to happen to early on.

I kinda agree with you. "Power Trip" doesn't quite have the same ring to it. It actually sounds more like a spin-off show rather than regular Big Brother - maybe that's what casual viewers think when they see it in the TV guide?

I thought "Power and Control" would have sounded better (if a bit over-used). Maybe if they simply added "New" before Big Brother Power Trip people may be more inclined to watch. Or like JohnnyBB says, just have it as New: Big Brother.

Josy 14-06-2014 01:36 PM

Awful.

Cal. 14-06-2014 01:51 PM

They need to change the name to 'New: Big Brother' like mentioned and ditch Power Trip. I know people will argue and say that it got Secrets and Lies good ratings but I've had to explain to a lot of people that it's still just the normal civilian Big Brother despite the name.

Don't think we will get it. None of the +1 for anything has been released. I want to know the interview one too!
