I'm watching both Halloween and Halloween 2 tonight (as I wanted to save them for Halloween night), so I'll post my review tomorrow, if that's okay.

Cal. 31-10-2015 01:07 PM

I guess I'll do the rankdown of scores tomorrow then.

This chick is awaiting some Halloween reviews before she does the rank down.

9/10 for the first and 8/10 for the second

Halloween (1978)
10/10

My favourite horror film. A true masterpiece by John Carpenter himself. Very atmospheric and creepy. Brilliant characters. Michael Myers at his best. His heavy breathing, his head-tilting, his strength and the way he stalks add to the creepiness and overall tone of the film. I love how Halloween manages to be scary in such a subtle way without relying too much on the gore and blood like you get in more recent horror films. For a film over 35 years old, it still holds strong.

Halloween 2 (1981)
9/10

After re-watching the franchise I've decided this is my favourite sequel (4 being a close 2nd). This one takes place where the first one left off on the same night as the first film. I love the hospital setting in this film. Very unique setting and makes a great hospital slasher film. Michael again creepy as always and there's some brilliant death scenes in this one. I also love this film because of the chase scenes between Michael and Laurie. The hospital one and the car park one

I love watching this one after watching the first one as I like to think of them both as one big movie.

Thanks<3

If anyone wishes to submit any reviews for anything else could they please do so before tomorrow at 7PM. I'll do the rankdown then for definite.

Halloween - 9/10

TIBB'S HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN | THE RESULTS |

http://i.imgur.com/gEk2HNO.jpg

After 30 nights of watching, reviewing and scoring horror -we finally have a rank down of all the films we saw - right from the worst to the best rated. Some films at the start were probably luckier in gaining more scores than the ones at the end as more people were interested towards the beginning of the month - so there is some greats low down on the list that would have probably made the Top 10 had they been reviewed more. However, without further ado-

Spoiler:

1 – Scream 2 (92 out of 110)
2- Scream (74 out of 80)
3- The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (68.5 out of 90)
4- Urban Legend (67 out of 80)
5- The Descent (65.5 out of 70)
6- Scream 4 (57 out of 80)
7- The Babdook (53 out of 70)
8- The Crazies (52.5 out of 70)
9- I Know What You Did Last Summer (52 out of 90) and Sinister (52 out of 70)
10- House of Wax (51.5 out of 80)
11- A Nightmare on Elm Street (50.5 out of 60)
12- Scream 3 (49 out of 80)
13- Halloween (46 out of 50)
14- Friday the 13th (45 out of 90) and It Follows (45 out of 70)
15- Black Christmas (44 out of 70)
16- The Conjouring (37 out of 40), Dawn of the Dead (37 out of 50) and Halloween II (37 out of 50)
17- All the Boys Love Mandy Lane (35.5 out of 50)
18- Wolf Creek (33 out of 50)
19- Final Destination 3 (29 out of 40) and Orphan (29 out of 40)
20- The Strangers (27.5 out of 40)
21- Prom Night (21 out of 40)
22- Misery (16 out of 20)
23- The Amityville Horror (15.5 out of 30)
24- My Bloody Valentine (12 out of 20)
25- When A Stranger Calls (8 out of 20)
26- Candyman (7 out of 10)

Halloween is way too low imo. That's a ground-breaking classic which changed the horror genre and the fact films such as Scream 3, IKWYDLS, The Descent, House of Wax, and Babadook are above it is just...wrong :worry:

Cal. 05-11-2015 09:33 PM

Obviously, but it suffered because of when it was scheduled - as did most of the films in the second half.

Jason. 05-11-2015 09:35 PM

Oh yeah, I didn't notice that. Some movies weren't watched by many people, which explains why the Screams have done well as they were all on within the first week - when the countdown was fresh and in its peak when everybody did it.

Jason. 05-11-2015 09:44 PM

I've really enjoyed this Cal. Even though I sorta gave up after the first half :worry: It's been good and I hope you do another one next year.

Cal. 06-11-2015 06:42 PM

Thank you. I hope so. :)

Tom4784 06-11-2015 06:54 PM

It might be a good idea to just do it for two weeks or something, there was definitely a drop off in reviews after the halfway point.
