I watched “Us” tonight properly for the first time - really enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. The twist at the end was fantastic.

Totally trumped “Get Out” for me. 7.5/10.

A lot of people are liking this "Jojo Rabbit" Johnny Vegas said it's the best film he's seen since "Kes"

I'll have to get around to seeing it sometime.

Ford v Ferrari 9/10

Alf 01-02-2020 06:04 AM

Whiplash

It was good, but from what I'd heard about it, I was expecting much better.

Alf 04-02-2020 05:15 PM

I just bought 3 films, which is the best, which one should I watch this evening?

Spider-man into the Spider Verse
Hacksaw Ridge
Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri

Knives Out - A classic Whodunit story, it was good fun imo, and the actors do a great job I feel.

It's not for people who hate OTT storytelling though.

8.5/10

I really liked that too, it was a very fun old school kind of film.

I watched Just Mercy last night it was very good I'll give it a 8/10

Prisoners (2013)

Staring Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Terrance Howard, Viola Davis, Maria Bello, Dylan Minnette and Paul Dano.

When two young girls go missing, one belonging to Keller and Grace (Jackman and Bello), the other to Franklin and Nancy (Howard and Davis), a hot-shot detective (Gyllenhaal) is assigned to the case and relentlessly tries to find the clues that could lead to the whereabouts of the missing. When a mentally handicapped Alex Jones (Dano) is found near the scene of the disappearance with no hard evidence, Keller takes matters into his own hands.

Holy **** this was one hell of a rollercoaster ride that i didn't want to get off! This was one intense movie-going experience. Throughout the entire running time of the movie, the suspense never lets up. I was truly gripped and on the edge of my seat throughout.

Hugh Jackman is utterly convincing in his performance, possibly his best. You can see the longing to find his sweet, innocent daughter through his miserable eyes, filled with redness, desperation, determination and anger. How he never won, let alone wasn't nominated for an Oscar baffles me. Gyllenhaal is equally impressive as the detective assigned to the case. Dano was truly creepy too. Everyone played their parts well.

10/10. One of the best films of the 2010's.

Nicky91 16-02-2020 02:00 PM

bit of a slightly older movie, from 00's decade

Underworld: Evolution

with Kate Beckinsale, Bill Nighy, Derek Jacobi, Scott Speedman

James 17-02-2020 12:31 PM

Toy Story 4. It had some funny comedic moments as usual and was well done, but I thought the editing and storytelling was bit off. Like the characters are in the middle of a dramatic rescue and they all stop to have an emotional conversation.

7/10.

Mystic Mock 19-02-2020 03:50 AM

Avengers: Endgame - I don't know why I found it so hard to get into this Film tbh, but I just couldn't love the Film like I did with Avengers 1 & Infinity War plus countless other Marvel Films. The pacing was probably apart of the problem, or I just wasn't in the mood for it, but it just didn't grab me.

The Hawkeye scenes, Tony Stark's exit from the story, and the final battle were standout moments in the Film imo.

6.5/10 I know that it's probably a harsh score.
