I think thought that theres something about siavash that Kris and the others like. They all think hes cool and have banter with him. In no way do i really think they are beliving this bullshit. Why would Marcus stand by Noirin more than anyone else? She clearly told him they were JUST friends, yet she's angry when he stands by another friend.
