Ahh.

Shame he's not going to the World Cup. Walcott, Sturridge and Sterling/Welbeck... the pace we'd have. :flutter:

Arsenal are in a weird position, FA final obviously could end a barren 9 year trophy-less seasons.

However, it masks the fact that once again Arsenal (or Arsenal London as I like to call them) have clinches 4th champions league spot as rivals ie Everton slipped up which is what's happened for last few seasons. Remember a couple of seasons back when Spurs were 7 points ahead in 4th place and they imploded (Arsenal coming back from 2-0 down to win 5-2, Redknapp touting for England job, then court case etc).

Next season the chasing pack will be better and more competitive a rejuvenated Man U will bein top 4, Everton will improve, Southampton matured and even Spurs and Newcastle could scrap it out for a EUROPA Cup spot if they get new management and some cash. Arsenal had better watch it.

I don't think we need to watch it at all. Everyone seems to forget we were cruising at the top of the league for months with a consistant 5 point lead. It's only when 4/5 of our starting 11 and best players all got injured around the same period that we dropped off. We have the squad to compete already, just need more depth and more tactics going into the bigger games.

Have to agree with LeatherTrumpet. Those clauses in Cesc's contract. A vile thing to do.

But other teams have also had injuries/ missing players due to excessive ear biting etc and stayed in title race.

The reality Arsenal's squad is far too small and a few injuries cripples the team. Yet Wenger would rather discuss anything not directly related to Arsenal* than splash out (I bet it was the board begging Wenger to "treat" himself to Mesut Ozil :joker:)

* Wenger was at it again yesterday, discussing this new FA Board proposal of B league

You can't compare our situation to any other club.. Non of the other top 4/5 clubs have had injuries all going on at one time. We have spent half of the season at the top of the league with an almost fully fit squad, twice as long as any other side. We were cruising until Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshere and Walcott got injured around the same time and these were all bad injuries, not just a week or two out. Ox and Koscielny were also out for periods. Its like taking Silva, Yaya, Kompany and Aguero or Gerrard, Sturridge, Suarez and Skrtel all out at once.

Drew. 09-05-2014 04:06 PM

Get in, Koscielny signs new long-term contract
