Very good ratings for CBB13, I remember everyone saying that CBB11 was a freak in terms of ratings but it seems to be matching CBB11 almost every time. A reason might be the lack of 10PM highlight episodes this year, a total TV audience of roughly 23 million at 9PM reduced to 17 million at 10PM can make a huge difference.
There feels more of a buzz around big brother nowadays. Feels like so many more people are talking about it wherever I go.

2.01m for last night incl +1. 2nd highest Sat of the series, just a tiny bit behind the Luisa vs. Dappy row. CBB and Dads Army (whch got 2.02m) were the two highest raters of the night outside ITV and BBC1.

daniel-lewis-1985 26-01-2014 12:28 PM

Good rating, I think tonight will do well with Jasmine renenternig and the surprise eviction.

Looking forward to those officials tomorrow.

Just to gloat at Channel 4 look what they achieved last night lol.

US drama Hostages was Channel 4's highest-rated showpulling in 750,000 (3.49%) at 9pm up against CBB

Speed with Guy Martin brought in 540k (2.44%) at 7pm

Bigfoot Files 570k (2.63%) at 8pm.

Fail.

:laugh2: Bet Channel 5 are revelling in this.

How will CBB over running by 10 minutes affect the ratings?

Will the film which was supposed to start at 10 get the BB viewers in statistics seeing as they go by time slot?

What a mess of an episode.

JohnnyBB 26-01-2014 09:18 PM

big brother trended 8 out of 10 i look forward to seeing the raitings tomrrow oouufff!

daniel-lewis-1985 26-01-2014 09:45 PM

At the moment 6 of the top tweets are about CBB or channel 5 im expecting a big +1 rating.

Loukas 26-01-2014 11:47 PM

*fingers crossed for 3m*

Jamesy 26-01-2014 11:51 PM

You're looking for a 1m increase to ever hit 3m, never gonna happen! I predict 2.5-2.7m. Hopefully the hype on Facebook and Twitter will have brought in a few extra viewers towards the end.

I'm conflicted. I want the finale to get a really good rating to round this series off, but the more people watch, the more casual viewers there are that'll just vote for Sam and Ollie 'coz they're nice innit' or because they know them from TOWIE, and that will tarnish the end of what has been the best series of CBB ever. So idk :(

Thoroughly well deserved ratings thus far though. I hope they can keep the momentum up for the civilian run, though I have a really bad feeling that they inevitably won't be able to recreate what's happened this January and when there's not as much press attention and talk on Twitter they might see fit to just axe the main series? Worst nightmare tbh

Stevep 27-01-2014 12:14 AM

I know the ratings are very good in comparisons to the typical ratings the shows receives since it's transition to 5 but i must admit i'm a little surprised that they are not a little higher, and by that i mean around the 3.5 to 4m mark. And i only say that as the show has been mentioned on a fair few high-profile shows and has been tweeted on numerous occasions by high-profile celebs.

I can't believe it jumped that much! These next couple days before final should rate well then :D

I had a feeling it would, same day last week it got 2.7m for highlights show against the same competition, and that didn't have a big event like Jasmine's return or the live element. Plus the video of her return was on the home page of YouTube with 300,000+ views before the episode aired so that would have created a buzz on the social networks throughout the day.

That's ****ing amazing! Is that the best overnight since the second episode of CBB8?

More importantly, I hope Endemol are spurred on by the success of this series and BB14 to make some sort of effort this year with the twists, rather than the usual earpieces, secret rooms bullsh*t.

Samm 27-01-2014 09:14 AM

Totally agree Sid it looks like BB on C5 is getting better every year

But I think BB13 could of done amazing if the Olympics wasn't on, do you think the football will effect BB this year how did BB11 do when it was on
