This theme extremely smart in their move. I'm very excited for this season.

BBJordan 15-09-2016 04:53 AM

I really enjoyed episode one and I'm really excited for the rest of this season now!!

Tom4784 15-09-2016 09:56 AM

That was really interesting, this series could be a true return to form.

Niamh. 15-09-2016 10:09 AM

Really Dezzy, what's this one about? I skipped Hotel

Jake. 15-09-2016 10:26 AM

I've been hearing really good things about this, can't wait to watch it

I honestly found myself getting quite bored with this. I love the Roanoke angle, they were among my favourite theories for the season, but I'm not entirely sold on the docudrama approach just yet (although it is an interesting new concept for the show).

Spoiler:

It's about a couple who, after getting attacked in LA, move to the country into an old house. It's basically another ghost house story but the twist is that it's presented as a documentary with re-enactments. Not much of the story has been revealed so far but it feels completely different to the other seasons.

hhhhmmmm sounds interesting all right, I may give it a go

Jake. 15-09-2016 05:07 PM

Think it's officially called Roanoke

Will. 15-09-2016 06:08 PM

I really enjoyed it, the documentary style is interesting. It feels very different, hopefully it will be a good season.

LukeB 15-09-2016 07:23 PM

I don't like it, the whole documentary thing is weird.

lewis111 15-09-2016 07:32 PM

I really enjoyed the episode and the story
But I don't like the format

It kinda spoils (maybe) who doesn't die
And it kinda takes away from the mysterious vibe cause people are discussing it

Jarrod 15-09-2016 07:35 PM

I'm not keen on the way it's presented as a documentary. I'd much rather have it like the other seasons and watch it as a drama. It's clever, don't get me wrong but I'm not sure on it yet. I'll get used to it eventually I'm sure!

Story sounds really interesting though.

Samm 15-09-2016 08:16 PM

I like it and I love the doc style :worry: I don't think there's going to be much of a comedy aspect this season though but I don't mind since we have scream queens

Smithy 15-09-2016 08:20 PM

Really good opening episode! The docu format makes it so much better cast wise IMO, Ryan always seems to try and shoehorn everyone in with every season, now the cast doesn't feel so crowded because a lot of the cast are playing the same character

Next weeks episode looks great, screaming at gags in it

Also had the creepy feeling that the first eps of S1,2 & 5 had and the mystery element, which IMO was what hotel and freakshow were missing

Jake. 15-09-2016 08:56 PM

I thought it was fantastic. Finally, I feel like we've gotten back to the Murder House/Asylum days. The documentary presentation really worked, it didn't feel overcrowded and the subtle horror movie references were noticeable, but didn't feel overused.

rk3388 15-09-2016 08:59 PM

I feel like they really brought it back to the horror simplicity of the first season and I am actually curious to see what happens next. I think the last few seasons they were trying too hard to bring the shock factor that subtle horror and a story that actually made sense took a back seat

Cal. 15-09-2016 09:43 PM

Hated it at the start but throughout the episode I grew to love it and I love how stripped back it feels like the Murder House/Asylum days. Really hoping for high quality this season.

Marsh. 15-09-2016 09:57 PM

I didn't expect Lily Rabe to be the first voice I'd hear. :amazed:

Marsh. 15-09-2016 09:58 PM

Sarah Paulson is playing Lily Rabe in a re-enactment. Okay, this is going to get confusing. :worry:

Tom4784 15-09-2016 10:03 PM

I didn't get that Sarah and Cuba were playing the re-enactment roles until after it finished :worry:. I thought Lily and the other guy were meant to be the actors telling their story in a glitzy TV way while Sarah and Cuba were depicting what really happened.

Marsh. 15-09-2016 10:05 PM

Not the obligatory sex scene. I've heard Sarah Paulson in a state of ecstasy more than I've had hot dinners. :idc:

Marsh. 15-09-2016 10:07 PM

I enjoyed Coven and parts of Hotel, so I don't hate theatrical. But it is good to see it a little more "grounded", is more suspenseful and creepy.

Reminds me of when I first watched season 1 and was a little apprehensive whilst watching as I didn't know what to expect.

Marsh. 15-09-2016 10:12 PM

Get out of that hot tub Sarah for the LOVE OF GOD! :worry:
