BB was up 80k on last week

Big Brother - 683k (5.5%) peak - 850k
The Circle - 450k (3.6%)

.

Its bad but atleast its rising slightly. Maybe tonight will gain a few more viewers with Kay leaving.

Do you have any idea of The Circles officials yet?

^ wow that's a terrible retention

People in this country really have no taste do they?

Rob! 02-10-2018 05:59 PM

Do you think it'll get a second series? I dunno how bad it is compared to Channel 4's usual 10pm slot average.

Jack_ 02-10-2018 06:04 PM

I would like to hope so cause surely if they were really committed to it then it would've been at 9pm, but idk, it looks like an expensive show to produce - is it worth it?

It's the best thing they've commissioned in a decade though so if The ****ing Jump can get umpteen series I'd like to hope this can

Rob! 02-10-2018 06:05 PM

I mean if Love Island can go from averaging around 500k for it's first series to being over 5m on it's officials then I would of thought The Circle could continue. Everyone who IS watching it seems to like it.

It did cost a FORTUNE so it depends how confident they are, but I have seen the production company tweet that it’s doubling C4’s 10pm slot average for the key advertising demo so that’s good.

If anything I see them maybe cutting costs and putting it on E4 where it’d be fully capable of the same audience, if not more when BB is not around

Rob! 02-10-2018 06:07 PM

Yeah do you think it's pretty much the same audience as BB? I am honestly amazed that it seems to have barely touched BB in the ratings since it started. Thank God the launch was on at 9.

That's precisely what I'm hoping C4 were thinking when they put it at 10, see how it does as an experiment (like BB in 2000) with the thought of maybe nurturing it and letting it grow naturally like ITV2 did with Love Island

I'd be happy for it go to E4, just as long as it exists somewhere

supertv247 02-10-2018 06:13 PM

I like to think we’ll see BB rise a little when The Circle ends next week, and likewise I think The Circle would do a LOT better outside of BB, or at 9pm

pontyboi 03-10-2018 03:40 PM

Jake. 03-10-2018 03:57 PM

Bloody hell. The 10:15 start doesn't help.
The Circle got somewhere in the 400k last night apparently.

Imagine us waiting all day for that bloody figure :laugh2:

Rob! 03-10-2018 04:54 PM

Oh well. It'll climb back up to the 600k range tonight one would hope.

God. Imagine the 600k range being a climb :skull:

Nicky91 03-10-2018 04:57 PM

i think one explanation for low ratings for big brother might also be, it's too outdated, maybe the public wants something new, and more into 2018

our big brother also got low ratings at it's final year here 12 years ago, and we were also moaning back then about big brother being too old fashioned

supertv247 03-10-2018 07:29 PM

UPDATE

Monday - 692k (5.4%)
Tuesday - 598k (5.7%)

both slightly up on the original reports

supertv247 03-10-2018 07:32 PM

but still considered the lowest rating ever

Yeah I don't get that drop when Monday technically got 700k. It can't be just the 15 mins later start surely.

The share proves that there were only around 10.5m people watching TV in the slot instead of around 13m which is the average and what has been normal for 10pm lately.

Just a blip maybe? And back to 680k-700k tonight I think

Jake. 04-10-2018 07:43 AM

Updated the overnights, looks like I’m missing one?
I’ll add the officials later

Rob! 04-10-2018 10:29 AM

610k (4.8%) excl +1 for last night’s which should be in the 650k range overall.
