Hurricane Beryl now around 90 miles from tip of Jamaica. Still cat 4. Cant see the Eye at mo due to cloud. Travelling West at 20 miles per hour

Crimson Dynamo 04-07-2024 05:53 PM

Fresh snow on the top of Aonach Beag ( 3 km east of Ben Nevis ) this morning. Snow in early July is not
exceptional, but certainly very unusual.

Yes hit there tomorrow - massively dissipate over land (Yucatan)and then respawn in the Bay of Campeche and head NW to Mexico Texas border for a landfall maybe as a Cat 1/2?

Crimson Dynamo 06-07-2024 01:46 PM

Beryl now in Gulf of Mexico and is slowly reforming and will intensify and slam into South Texas Monday as a Cat 1 or 2 Hurricane causing lots of issues

TalkSport reporting that 2024 is officially the hottest year ( since records began) ..

It cant be as its only July - its a forecast not a fact

June was the hottest June on record (but the records for this type of thing go back to 1940) according to the European climate service Copernicus.

There is a lot of politics in this so treat with caution - Copernicus is funded by the EU and ALL left wing media will reproduce what they say verbatim with no investigative journalism. The BBC love this type of stuff

Heatwave in USA West

Amid a historic West Coast heat wave, a scorching temperature of 120 degrees in Las Vegas on Sunday broke the city’s all-time record high, with records going back to 1937, according to the National Weather Service.

“I did step out in the afternoon and it was hot; it was a dry heat but it was definitely hot,” said Andrew Gorelow, a forecaster with the weather service’s Las Vegas office. “The intensity of the sun was impressive. It felt very stifling.”

Before July, the hottest day ever recorded by the National Weather Service for Las Vegas was 117 degrees, and that temperature was measured on five separate occasions, on July 10, 2021; June 20, 2017; June 30, 2013; July 19, 2005; and July 24, 1942, according to Brian Planz, a meteorologist with the weather service’s Las Vegas office.

“We have reached 117 five times and then to beat it by 3 degrees — that’s pretty impressive,” Gorelow said.

This is no word of a lie. Up north where I am, near the coast, it's currently only 8c, cloudy and raining buckets.

I have two fleeces on, and it still feels chilly. In mid JULY.

Same here. That ruddy heating will be going on again.

I've put the thicker winter duvet on the bed for tonight. Could drop as low as 4c. Forecast heavy rain, cloud and only 12c tomorrow.

Gusto Brunt 16-07-2024 05:22 AM

I heard it was raining buckets in London yesterday.

We had glorious sunshine yesterday. All day.

It got to 19c, which is pretty hot up north. I was well pleased. However, heavy rain today.
