Friends reunited as Arsenal star heads north for City medical
Arsenal and Manchester City have reportedly agreed a fee for Kolo Toure, and the Ivorian is heading to the City of Manchester Stadium to complete a medical. Toure will follow his former teammate and close friend Emmanuel Adebayor, who made the same move last week. The deal is as of yet undisclosed, however reports indicate City will pay their Premier League counterparts £16 million. |
- Arsenal keen on Fulham star
Arsenal will replace Kolo Toure with Fulham's Brede Hangeland and Cottagers boss Roy Hodgson is fearful he could join the Gunners. |
We're losing a few players and he's not signing players which is worrying me very much.
He can't say that squad is strong enough to win the premiership He needs to make 3 top signings before the league starts or we could finish out of the top 4:sad: |
he needs a striker, center midfielder and top class centre back
|
Spain international Alvaro Arbeloa is set to complete his move to Real Madrid from Liverpool after passing a medical. The 26-year-old, who joined the Reds for £2.6m from Deportivo La Coruna in January 2007, will sign a five-year deal for a fee believed to be £3.5m. Right-back Arbeloa had one year left on his Anfield contract so could have left for free next summer. Dossena's move to Napoli is on hold now because of his wage demands. But if they both go through then that gives us around 7 million to spend, and we've still got a couple more players that will probably be leaving. |
Quote:
We only done badly last season due to massive amounts of injury. We have a great side, and it does have depth its just with 4 - 9 injuries its obviously hard. We have lost Adebayor and Toure. We will bring in hangeland and Huntelaar. If we lose Senderos and Eboue we will bring in one new player. We also have youngsters ready to play this season. GK: Almunia Fabianski Mannone Def: Sagna Gallas Vermaleen Gibbs Clichy Song Silvestre Djourou Toure or Hangeland Senderos and eboue possibly. Mid: Diaby Fabregas Rosicky Nasri Denilson Ramsey Wilshire Arshavin Walcott Fwd: Van Persie (whoever we bring in to replace adebayor) Eduardo Bendtnar Vela Arshavin can also play upfront. Our team has a lot of depth. If we stay away from having like 6 injuries again lol. |
Liverpool getting rid off thier defenders make's sense because there awful
|
Pretty much lol.
They definately need some better defenders and a new striker. Or Arshavin will put another 4 past Reina lol. |
another day no signings. starting to dislike mon

Celtic v Dinamo Moscow
Celtic will be without midfielders Scott Brown and Barry Robson for their Champions league qualifying clash with Dinamo Moscow on Wednesday night. The pair have recovered sufficiently from injuries to take part in training, but they will sit out the match along with defender Stephen McManus. The Russian visitors enter the first leg of the third-round qualifier minus suspended captain Dmitry Khokhlov. Otherwise, Dinamo coach Andrey Kobelev has a full squad to choose from. |
BREAKING NEWS: OFFICIAL: Kolo Toure Leaves Arsenal And Signs Four-Year Deal At Manchester City
The Ivorian has completed his Eastlands switch today... Manchester City have today made another sensational swoop in the summer transfer market, and signed centre-back Kolo Toure from Arsenal, with the club's official website confirming that the player has signed a four-year deal. The defender's agent confirmed that Toure had chosen to swap the Emirates for Eastlands because he believed that playing for City would satisfy his keen ambitions for honours, as well as providing him with a new challenge at this stage of his career. "Kolo's very ambitious at this time of his career," Saif Rubie told Sky Sports News. "He was very impressed with Sheikh Mansour and the chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak's vision for the club. "For him, it's a new challenge. He's very excited with what Mark Hughes is doing at the football club. He sees himself as being a lynchpin for the team and wants to do everything to turn Manchester City into what they have to be." Rubie also asserted that his client had not simply moved to Eastlands for the money, as more cynical observers had opined was the case. "Believe you me, anybody that knows Kolo Toure knows that he's a man who plays and fights with his heart," the agent continued. "He's has never done anything less than that in eight years of being at Arsenal. He's looking to give that to the team at Manchester City. Hopefully for years to come." |

Hangeland in no hurry over new deal
Fulham defender Brede Hangeland says he is in no rush to sign a new deal at Craven Cottage, intensifying speculation that he could soon be departing for pastures new. The 6ft 5in centre-back has made 52 league appearances for Roy Hodgson's side since arriving in January 2008, with the 28-year-old's rock-solid form last season helping the Cottagers seal a Europa League place, 12 months after avoiding relegation on the final day of the campaign. As a result, the Norwegian international - who has featured 50 times for his country - has been linked with moves to Aston Villa and Manchester City. While North London duo Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also on the lookout for a new central defender, with Arsene Wenger set to lose Kolo Toure to Manchester City and Harry Redknapp seeing Michael Dawson, Jonathan Woodgate and Ledley King all suffer injuries. Hangeland has previously pledged his allegiance to Fulham, insisting he was happy to stay at the club and assist them in their European quest in 2009/10. However, the stopper has now revealed that is in no hurry to agree a new deal. "I’m not in a rush to sign the contract. We will wait and see what happens," he said in the the Daily Telegraph. |
Surprised Arsenal sold Toure, he was probably your best defender.
If City can keep all their star players fit and playing well next season they're gonna definitely be in the top 4. |
Yeh i know, but i think we will probably get someone who will play just as good.
And i still can't see city doing it. I think 5th maybe 6th. |
Newcastle Vs. Leeds tonight.
Battle of the fallen. |
lol.
Wonder how leeds will get on. Leicester will be back int he premiership this season. Along with Reading ( yes dreaming) and Newcastle or middlesbrough. |
If Newc don't get a new takeover, manager and players then they're doomed for next season too. I think Boro might make it back up.
|
Does anyone have any confirmation of Shearer deffo being on MOTD next season? I know there's a quote from Linekar saying so but I just wanna check if there's anything more substantial lol
|
Has Shearer been sacked yet?
If he has then he'll 99% be back on MOTD. |
He's not been sacked, the issue is that there is no owner of the club, it's still up for sale for 100m, so no managerial decision can be made. Shearer said he's sick of waiting, and will go back to TV lol
